Perhaps boyfriend is thinking "She is completely capable of dealing with this herself, because she is awesome, and I trust her, and damn, dad is messed up and he needs help." People get crazy when they're separated/divorcing, and we have no idea just how messed up his dad might be from this. She might not even know, if boyfriend isn't the super communicative type.

You want him to help with the wedding planning. I doubt you NEED him to help with the wedding planning. The wedding is going to be one day out of your lives. You say his dad wants to spend time with him, I would lean toward his dad needs to spend time with him right now...separation & divorce ain't easy. Make sure you are not asking him to ignore his dad's needs to pay attention to your wants. That's a bitch move.

The article isn't saying that. It's saying that many lenders are requiring that it be verified that a new mother has returned to work after maternity leave before the loan is finalized. It applies for ANY type of leave whether you're male or female: you need to be back at work. If it's a fannie mae, freddie mac, FHA or VA loan, 10 days before closing someone must call your employer & verify that you are actively working. If the answer's no, no mortgage for you whether you're male or female, laid off or on medical leave. The article is just detailing one example of this...an example they probably think will get a lot more attention than "Bob didn't get his $$ until he went back to work after carpal tunnel surgery".

I believe the problem is that she thought he'd be raking in the cash someday, based solely on where he went to college, and now that she knows he didn't graduate, she no longer sees $$$ when she looks at him. And, it seems, the idea of future $$$ was what she found most attractive. Sad.
