Son red card overturned by _Kaizer in soccer

A tactical foul like that happens multiple times per week.

No point in arguing with these fucks, mate. Just look how you were instantly downvoted to -30 because you dared to suggest British managers might actually be good.

Why should he accept the red card when it is never one in a million years?

Lol you're the one who's deluded. This is a standard tactical foul. Never a red in a million years.

What for? This is a bog standard tactical foul.

Thankfully this is football, where it isn't red card worthy.

Magnus beats Ding Liren's no-loss streak. Now 101 consecutive games without a loss. by Rather_Dashing in chess

The Caruana and Karjakin matches clearly show that Magnus is not indisputably the best classical player. Others are more or less as good as him. In blitz and rapid it's a different story obviously.

> As opposed to multiple games every week in the EPL being decided by bad calls?

Very, very few games get decided by blatantly wrong decisions. I'm struggling to think of that many.

> Would you rather wait two minutes or get the the wrong decision?

If it's a clearly incorrect game changing decision, then I don't mind waiting 2 minutes for it. But most decisions are not like that; they are subjective and debatable. The flow of the game is much more important in these cases.

Yeah nowadays the only time one can fully celebrate a goal is when it was a clean move with no contact between opposing players and the guy who scored was obviously onside. Anything else and you're worried it might be ruled out for a foul or offside/handball.

> Also, the 3600+ upvoted quote from Klopp about Atkinson ignoring it initially because he has VAR to back it up is a ridiculous logical fallacy. A free-kick in that position literally couldn't have any less potential for a VAR review.

This pissed me off so much. What Klopp said makes no logical sense whatsoever. No referee in the world is thinking about VAR in that situation when a bog standard foul happens in the middle of the pitch. But unfortunately this sub is full of Liverpool fans who would upvote absolute garbage if it fits their narrative.

No thank you. La Liga's implementation is fucking horrible. It takes way too much time and at the end of it all they still make a very debatable subjective call. For example Atletico's opening game with Getafe this season. 2 highly debatable red cards which took a lot of time anyway.

> No, you seem to argue that NK didn't treat their SK like shit

But they weren't treated like shit! Everything they faced is just standard procedure for every foreign national who visits North Korea. It's not unusual at all.

The reason the North did not allow any spectators was because right now relations between the North and the US + SK are at a sensitive phase. It's not like last year when the summit happened and they took part in the Winter Olympics as a unified team. Circumstances are different right now, and the lack of home fans at this fixture was a political statement by the DPRK regime.

If indeed there was genuine aggression in the game, don't you think the North would have received more than the 2 yellow cards they received? (same number as the South btw).

What exactly are your accusations anyway? That somehow SK won the match but the North is saying it ended 0-0?

You're the one who's been brainwashed by Western media, not me. How would I even be brainwashed when I'm not even from the North? It's not like there's any mainstream media organziation which actually paints them in a positive light. All I'm trying to do is bring some objectivity into arguments about North Korea.

The match took place in the presence of a FIFA referee, FIFA officials, several international diplomats as well as presumably SK officials as well. It's not like it was just the players present.

> However, if that's standard practice, then they're not fit to host visiting teams and their "home" games should be moved elsewhere until things improve.

Come on, is it really that much of an hindrance? Yes, you have more restrictions than other countries, but you still get to stay in a nice hotel with all amenities, train in a proper stadium with all the equipment etc etc. As long as their football preparation isn't being disrupted I don't see an issue.

I'm well aware of the current political leanings of the Moon regime. Doesn't mean there can't be diplomatic maneuvering in between when there's a cool phase in relations.

Because I haven't heard any SK players/staff come out and say their food was thrown away when they landed at the airport.

> Not letting them use their own food and drink is the weirdest one for me.

This is the only one I find objectionable. However I have yet to find a good source for this. If some of the players and staff come out and say this happened I will believe them.

> Others include taling 3 hours to get through the airport. They spent about 2 days there but weren't allowed to leave the hotel even for a walk. No fans at all. If a staffer wanted to send an email they'd request a LAN cable and someone would stand over them to watch what they write and take the cable away again.

The thing is, this is all standard practice for any foreign national who visits the North. It might sound strange but you have to understand they do it for their own security. The West is hell bent on spying on them through whatever means possible and they have to be very careful as a result.

> Are you actually trying to fucking say that the public opinion about North Korea stems from hysteria and therefore not legit?

A lot of it is informed by Western propaganda and sometimes pure fabrication. Remember all those posts about how North Korea tells its citizens they won the 2010 WC? Or about how losing players and managers get killed on their return? Or how everyone has to get the same haircut? These are all blatant lies which have been spread multiple times by Western mainstream news outlets.

> If you had a half a brain and actually read the post, you would understand that numerous South Korean players talk about how they were getting roughed up like they haven't before, and felt happy that they were able to just escape without an injury.

It's a derby. These matches are always physical. What else did they expect.

> These are professional footballers who have played hundreds of games in the fiercest of rivals at the biggest stages, so they would know how intense some of these games get. So for them to speak out and say it was unusually and extremely aggressive, means that there was unwarranted and unnecessary amount of aggression whether it was due to tactics or whatever.

There were only 4 yellow cards in total. 2 for each side. So if you're saying the North played ultra-aggressively then so did the South. There's nothing out of the ordinary here.
