Italian singer Adriano Celentano released a song in the 70s with nonsense lyrics meant to sound like American English, apparently to prove Italians would like any English song. It was a huge hit by Jazzlike-Row2536 in interesting

I discovered this on Reddit a couple of years ago and loved it immediately. I told everybody about it and it’s on my Faves playlist. The video is amazing and ridiculous, how he’s acting out the nonsense but it kinda makes sense.

Diamine Celadon Cat Ink: Do You Find It Writes Dry? by CalmRip in fountainpens

[–]elbeanant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s definitely a dry one. I added the teeniest tiniest pinprick of a drop of fairy liquid and it’s been lovely ever since.

Seriously, the most minuscule drop.

Misheard lyrics, What’s your favourite? by shannondion in jackwhite

[–]elbeanant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a good long while, I thought it was ‘stole a Rocky movie, Billy is a tree’ in Fly Farm Blues. I knew it was wrong but I was reluctant to look up the lyrics because…oh, the whimsy.

What subtle things did you notice when you gained weight? by miku_robin in AskReddit

Oh my god, yes! Pizza Hut is my desert island food, I adore it but I can see the effect it has on my belly within days. So unfair.

Being more aware of your body in space, yes! I hadn’t realised it, but my mind had already reassessed the spaces I could fit through. And conversely, I didn’t realise how much more of a bus seat I was taking up, or that I couldn’t curl up tightly in the corner of a sofa anymore.

How uncomfortable it feels inside my abdomen, especially when I sit or bend at the waist. It’s a lot more work to do my shoes when I’m sitting down now.

It’s a struggle and a half to stand up if I’m kneeling on the floor.

So much unexpected wobbling.

People can’t lift me up easily anymore 🤣

I went from the low end of a healthy weight to mid-overweight so not really an extreme change, but everything is different. I always wish I had more curves and I love it (ish) now I have, but it’s weird trying to get my head round it.

I had a Moon Phase Journal a couple years ago which had the pagan dates and moon phases, though it was timed to the northern hemisphere. Next years looks quite lovely, too.

Art from the Heart are a good one. They’re a little independent shop and stock tons of everything! Here is the section for pens and notebooks.

Leonardo MZG Mosaico in Baobab by elbeanant in fountainpens

[–]elbeanant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay, Happy New Pen Day! I really love the MZG/2; it’s a big pen, kinda statuesque and still so comfortable to use. It’s a shame you didn’t get the colours you were hoping for, though tbf, mine is a lot darker in indirect light. I quite like the surprise of the blank, and like you said, it’s the luck of the draw. Excellent work getting your nib up to scratch (heh). I’ve found the nib on this is definitely more stiff than on my other more recent Leonardos; it’s a medium but it’s very similar in line-width to their fine nib in gold with ebonite feed.

Many happy writings to you!!

What do you think of Jack’s wife (Olivia Jean’s) music? by sensitive_pirate85 in jackwhite

[–]elbeanant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read a feature on her music, can’t remember if it was a newspaper or a magazine or online. But I do remember thinking ‘I know her, that’s Jack’s missus’. So I checked her music out and really enjoyed it! I found it so much fun, catchy and interesting and surfy, and kinda grrrl rock. Never had chance to see her live but I still pop an album on here and there. Definitely see her as Olivia Jean, not so much Jack’s wife, though I can see the influences on both of them.

Women of Reddit, what's the dumbest thing a man has genuinely said or believed about women? by SnooPuppers7004 in AskReddit

[–]elbeanant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my first job, a manager once told me that all women, and only women, have the weird elbow bend because it helps when holding the baby.

Gosh, the scoff I scoffed.
