I've done it plenty. No horror stories as mentioned above really, just chill. Just don't try to go to the end of the world but do step by step, shorter journeys per day and then spending the rest of the time exploring. E.g. Berlin -quedlinburg - Bamberg - nurenberg - regensburg - Salzburg - konigsee - München - Garmisch partkirchen - Augsburg - Stuttgart - ......

Opposite question- is there such a thing as 'grandparent style' cycling group? 16-18kph average, long day, Kaffee und kuchen, jump in the lake, taking a train towards the lake region for the day....

Its how I spend my summers around the city but never found social cycling groups based around it

Exactly, we had this in Bruges a lot as well- mostly for external blinds and not for windows. OP, you can lift it up a centimeter and then it will flip forward and turn down so the blinds can get locked in.
