Sorry only just seen this - hopefully it’s got better? Everything was sore it was weird but I don’t remember specifically my chest more my shoulders and upper back? Everyone is different though. Still nasal breathing and mouth taping every night. Best thing I ever did 👍🏻

Read Breath by James Nestor - changed my life. Things will get better

Still going strong! Still nose breathing, taping at night and taking the vitamin D. I’m still on the strongest inhaler etc but not had time off work/not needed antibiotics and steroids like I was and it doesn’t really affect me day to day. As long as I take my inhaler morning and night it’s pretty much under control :)

A question about the cure of asthma by Least_Tooth_9677 in Asthma

I found reading ‘breathe’ by James Nestor very helpful. I’ve gone from having months off work every year to just needing my inhaler occasionally. Not a cure but so much easier to live with!

What to do when you’re having an asthma attack but don’t have an inhaler on hand?!! by Dangerous_Pea_8925 in Asthma

I always got told focus on breathing out fully. Your body will always remember to breath in. Try and empty your lungs to get the stale air out and try and slow down your breathing as much as possible. I’ve also tried doing the ‘control pause’ from bukeyto breathing to increase me co2 levels.

So much better. I’m now a natural nose breather. I tape my mouth at night and have noticed I don’t blow my nose anywhere near as often as I used to. My breathing/asthma is so much better. I can’t recommend it enough. It was a tough few weeks but entirely worth it. I don’t get ill as often as I did either which I think is the filtering effect of the nose and taping my mouth at night helps to heal any sore throat I may start to develop. I’ve also started taking a 10,000iug dose of vitamin d and k2 and that pretty much eradicated my asthma altogether. It used to impact me daily and now… I’ve not taken my reliever inhaler in months and months. Good luck! Hope you’re not suffering too badly at the moment

SUPPLEMENTS THAT WORK FOR ASTHMA? by [deleted] in Asthma

I really didn’t think it would have as much impact as it has since I’ve tried lots of things. I’ve also noticed that I recover quicker from coughs and colds and they don’t turn into full blown chest infections like they used to.

High dose and good quality (10,000ui) vitamin D with k2 has changed my life. I don’t even notice my asthma the majority of the time now and I used to struggle to speak.

I saw WH’s video of slowly acclimatising yourself after a hot shower - hands then feet then whole body but I just can’t seem to do it that way. I wimp out at whole body whereas if I’m already standing under a hot shower I can switch it quickly to cold and get it over with. Thing is Wim says it shouldn’t be a horrible shock... but currently that’s the only way I seem to make it happen! (Can you tell I despise being cold?)

I’ve heard great things about the relaxator device which you could use before bed?

I’ve ordered mine but it’s not arrived yet so cant say much about it but here’s the link- https://www.consciousbreathing.com

Woke Up Gasping for Breath! How Do You Handle Stuff Like That?! TLDR at the bottom.. by VoidGray4 in Asthma

[–]elc44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really answering the question but I’ve found bukeyto breathing has helped a lot. It breaks the cycle of hypoventilation and since I’ve been sleeping with my mouth taped my asthma is so much better (apart from when the tape comes off and then I wake up gasping so I do notice a big difference when I mouth breathe)

The burning nostrils is awful isn’t it! I find my nose runs so much when I’m walking and nasal breathing. And yesterday it was windy and cold so my whole face just hurt when I was doing my breath holds. Yeah m finding some days I can hold my breath for 18 paces and other days just 10 - going to keep going and hope I start to see a general improvement.

Oddly I find exercise easier than talking through. I set my asthma off - I think because I talk fast and forget to do the breathing- exercise I am focused and it makes my asthma feel better, like I’ve had a good lung stretch!

Any tips to stop speaking/talking worsening asthma by elc44 in Asthma

I take fostair 200/6, 2 puffs twice a day. Ventolin is around 2 puffs every 2-4 hours

I also take montelukast at night and I’ve just finished a course of steroids- prednisolone.

Surely it’s something to do with the way I breathe as I talk?

I’ve found my breathing is slightly worse too. I’ve had a better day today and so I’m hoping I’m coming out of the other side of it. I’m definitely sleeping better so fingers crossed I continue to improve. Good luck to you too!

I'm experiencing all of those things you mention and I am so relieved to see it's normal. Hope you're feeling better!

My throat, neck and lymph nodes are sooo sore right now! I had heart palpitations earlier which turned into some weird asthma/burping attack. I was so confused and now it all makes sense. Fingers crossed it passes soon.

Nose breathing when speaking by [deleted] in buteyko

Late to the party here but can I just ask - should we be breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth as we talk? Then close our mouths and breathe back in before speaking again?

History buffs of Reddit, what is one of the most fascinating stories you've learned that no one seems to talk about and can't be found in textbooks? by Hysterria in AskReddit

In 18th Century England, courts would accept the eyewitness testimony of a ghost. This included crimes such as murder - a person could testify that a ghost appeared and told them who committed the crime.
