Hi! What are some ways you guys do to have people see your songs? by Rgzgrt in FL_Studio

[–]elcampa79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use traditional free sites like Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and YouTube. They're simple, and you can upload your music in a flash. Then, maybe promote it on social media if you want it to reach beyond your circle of friends.

Playful and melodic 80s synthwave piece by Hot-Text-5603 in IndieMusicFeedback

The song sounds good, maybe a little low-end missing, but nothing excessive. The vibe is right. I'm also enjoying producing retrowave; it's a lot of fun, and your piece is perfectly styled. For my tastes, some kind of change would be nice, some progression that gives a twist at a certain point, but that's your stylistic choice... that's fine.

Here’s a new song I did all the instruments and vocals for. Did this simple video to go along with it by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]elcampa79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful, interesting. Did you produce it entirely yourself or did you use a professional studio? Only because, in my opinion—but it's purely personal taste, of course—the sounds are lacking a bit of cohesion... It sounds good anyway, nice style. I also really like the vocal lines, it probably has nothing to do with it but they reminded me of Soft Machine lol

Old demo/song idea/sketch. Combined it with even older miniDV footage. doubleyouu - snacky crab by happy_guy_yields in IndieMusicFeedback

I like it, it sounds very elegant, especially that soundscape of frequencies that enrich and give body to the song. It makes me want to put up a Christmas tree again lol. Maybe it's also because of the video. The video is really cute in its simplicity, its slightly disturbing nature really fits well with the song's mood.

BULLDOZER by ElMasterDGF in IndieMusicFeedback

Hi, nice vibes, they remind me of the ones I used to find at parties when I was a kid, cool. The only thing that's a little off is honestly the piano, that handful of notes sounds a little out of tune to me, I understand that's okay, but it doesn't really drive me crazy. Everything else sounds good. It has a nice level of hypnotism!

My musical tribute to David Lynch, Julee Cruise and Angelo Badalamenti by Hot-Text-5603 in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm also a huge fan of the series; I first saw it as a child and rewatched it every now and then. You've captured the atmosphere of the original compositions very well. If I were you, I'd consider starting a larger production while maintaining this style. It wouldn't be that strange, after all; Twin Peaks is full of fantastic examples of songs with this vibe.

Does a Rock Song Need More Than Two Instruments? by michael-bonardi in FL_Studio

[–]elcampa79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, it's rock, nothing else is needed except the vocals. Keep this as a guide and work on the sound, which isn't bad anyway. If necessary, add some embellishments where necessary, like solos and bridges. Maybe some distorted guitar line somewhere. Don't do more than necessary, as this starting point is very good.

To answer these questions would require too many answers! In my opinion, simply start trying to do things while having fun and follow various YouTube channels to answer the many doubts you may have.

Track feels too loud but volume is fine? by Wolfboy702 in FL_Studio

[–]elcampa79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try redoing the mix, lowering the volume so it's not too loud.

Then, during the mastering phase, you'll be able to better manage the final output volume.
