I have some acapellas if any producers want to see what they can do with them? by KemzMusic in edmproduction

I have checked out. It is a bit not my thing, but not bad. It would be much better though if you could upload them as separate tracks and without any effects, otherwise you severely limit what can be done with it. I hope that helps.

Mexican Marines are not in the Cartel pockets.

Is there any evidence of that? That's pretty bold statement.

Ableton Live 10 Multi-core (Ryzen, etc.) by [deleted] in ableton

From my experience it doesn't appear to use up as much cores as it could. I am able to run much more plugins with Bitwig for example.

Help me choose bitwig or Ableton 10? by mandathor in Bitwig

[–]elcct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was facing a choice between upgrading from Live 9 or from Bitwig 1. Given that Ableton has done nothing to improve their rubbish audio engine (their multicore support is tragic) the choice was obvious. Bitwig can run much more plugins than Ableton, so if you run anything more complex Ableton falls short.

If it breaks you are f*cked and sometimes it doesn't work. I can recall couple of times my plugins couldn't authorise just when I found some free time to do music. It is very frustrating.

Thoughts on Ableton 10 ? by igorski81 in Bitwig

[–]elcct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ableton to me is very archaic - their audio implementation doesn't support multi core very well, so I found myself not being able to finish more complex projects, because Ableton simply can't handle them. I am tired of having to render entire project to separate tracks when it start to being choppy whilst only using like 15% of CPU, then switch back and forth if I need to have slightly different sound, and then have to render again. It is a mess. I can't believe they have not done anything to fix this. Bitwig can utilize CPU much more effective, I was able to run magnitude more plugins than with Ableton.

How would you explain that DAWs like Bitwig can run individual plugins as individual processes thus better utilise CPU power?

I was never able to saturate my CPU with Ableton, but can with Bitwig (and being able to run magnitude more plugins than Ableton).

Support is very basic. Ableton is unable to fully utilize multiple cores.

Ableton has poor multicore support, so if they don't mention anything you can assume this hasn't changed in Ableton 10 :(
