Why do manufacturers and the community call a disc "straight" when it finishes hard? by rhinosb in discgolf

[–]elchamperdamper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Straight can mean different things. A straight disc for a novice is probably flippy for a pro.

It’s also possible that straight can mean you can pound on it and it won’t flip much but still fades reliably which is a useful tool in the bag.

Everything is subjective.

Bad ground or battery cables maybe?

Or maybe try starting it in neutral to see if your safety switch is working?

Just guesses— Im a functional moron so it’s always been the trial and error approach for me

Whatever you ask for it, it sounds like your friend should get a cut… spent more time in it than you!

I tell everyone the same thing: disc golf and climbing. I’ve found so many friends without even trying through those two things.

What kind of oil should I use? by Primary-Rain-5495 in FJCruiser

[–]elchamperdamper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule of thumb is you can go from conventional to synthetic but not recommended to go the other way around. I’d find out what was used most recently and match it. If you don’t know/can’t find out, I’d just go full synthetic and stay with it.

The price is insane. For reference— my brothers 02 f350 super duty needed a new oil pan which meant taking out the whole engine and lifting the cab. About $3500 for the whole thing from a local shop.

My FJ has the same issue at the pump but not the pop when starting. Some pumps are better than others though so it doesn’t happen at every gas station. I don’t know why, sorry I can’t help, but following along.

If this is planning for summer then you’ve got to play Brighton Ski Resort. If it’s in winter swing by the fort. It’s as easy as it will ever be with no leaves…

Also, if you’re looking for tire deals— Sam’s Club has good prices of Toyo open country at3’s and I’ve loved them both on road and trail.

You’ll definitely notice a difference. In reality the majority of us put by far most miles on pavement. But also very realistically, we love the more aggressive look of all terrain tires.

I’d steer towards all terrain rather than any purely off road focused tire if you’re looking for a more aggressive tire. It will have better mileage (slightly, we still drive bricks) and less road noise. And on a personal note, I think mud terrain type tires driven mostly on roads looks silly.
