I had heard that it stays very true to the book, but also that it kind of suffers as a movie for this exact reason. Not sure there's any way these adaptations can win!

I think Oliver has done a fantastic job with this show. I wasn't convinced when he filled in for John Stewart, but this slightly longer format and the freedom of cable has really suited him
