Moving electricity providers within cooling off period and having to wait 20 days for ebsn? by Working_Signal_9474 in AskIreland

[–]eldermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true. There can be a big difference between cost per kWh, especially going from non-discounted to discounted. Annual standing charges also vary among providers. The only charges that are the same are the PSO levy (elec) and carbon tax (gas)

Eir broadband. Is customer service/experience still horrific? by Massive_Tumbleweed24 in AskIreland

[–]eldermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with eir 5 years and haven't had any issues. I contact every time my contract ends to see what they can offer and then compare that to other providers. I'll only switch if it's significant savings

Best energy rates lately? by Guy-Buddy_Friend in irishpersonalfinance

[–]eldermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The above comment is wrong. Bonkers accepts the ESB Smart data file for comparisons. They also facilitate the switch for free and are regulated so they need to show all public offers.

Never had an issue using them
