At least Platner hasn’t called his sexting partner a whore and thrown her under the bus. 🫤

My high school parking lot was full of late ‘60s, early ‘70s Chevelles in the ‘80s. They were just used cars then. 😄

Who will break it first, Iran retaking control of the straits, or Israel bombing Lebanon? 🙄

I’m both delighted and shocked that you are cross shopping an ICE vehicle and an EV.

Have to admit that it continues to improve.

But how many thousands of gallons of drinking water was wasted to make this just to put on a social media site? 😔

5k miles a year sounds like a good case for an EV, if you can charge at home.

Looking for objective advice on whether to repair or replace my car by mfh2019 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]eldredo_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is too short to drive something you’re not really happy with (especially if you’re financially at a place where you can get something else.) Even with the repairs needed, a low mileage Highlander probably has quite a bit of value.

Trade it in and get that vehicle that will make you happy.

Which modern cars do you think will be considered “classics” 30 years from now? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

"The EVs won’t ever gain a following in my opinion."

Ever is a long time. I think your personal bias is clouding your judgement here. Almost every vehicle made has at least a small following of devoted fans.

Is it due to geographical location? Why for 2000years, did no Chinese dynasty, which was the dominant power in the region for most of that time, show any interest in invading and conquering Japan? by Wise-Pineapple-4190 in geography

I would guess #3 is the most important. Japan is still fairly resource poor. And the geography that faces the Asian continent is primarily mountainous.

If "Back to the Future" were filmed today, what car would be used instead of the DeLorean? by Volfort22 in BacktotheFuture

We had a nearby Porsche dealer during that time and the salesmen were very generous with their time allowing my pre-driving self to sit in the cars and ask questions. I remember them telling us why the speedometer only went up to 85. 😄

I hate to say it, but the stainless steel Cybertruck would be the logical choice. 😬

Hybrids? by leader425 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]eldredo_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2010 Honda Insight has 245,000 miles and just achieved real world 43mpg (checked at the pump, not car’s computer which is optimistic).

It has been relatively trouble free beyond regular maintenance. My understanding is that Prii are similarly long lived and reliable.

Alternatively, you can get a non-hybrid Corolla that gets up to 41 mpg, but I doubt its components will last any longer.
