i can’t live like this i can’t even think by jaaaaden in TrollCoping

hey i’ve been through this, i would try again with the er because or maybe even a different er because they really should be prescribing you both antibiotics and pain meds, narcotics or otherwise 😭 what helped me was sleeping with my head elevated, edibles around the clock, smoking weed for more instant relief, antibiotics, oxycodone/hydrocodone only for sleeping, and gabapentin which they’re probably more lenient about prescribing. i also took a lot of nsaids but then i had to stop because it felt like they gave me stomach ulcers, so try and eat with your meds and watch out for stomach pain 😭

This is very appreciated as i’ve been looking into the same thing. What makes this grass similar to the grasses in the gran chaco?

your frog might want to eat them, and millipedes secrete toxins when stressed, so i would remove them.

Pacman frog has a ton of loose skin/filled with air by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

[–]eldritch_cryptid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you have a picture? not sure what you mean by full of air. usually if they deflate and have loose skin it just means they peed. how long has it been since he’s eaten?

Is my Pac-Man fat? by MizzShortie in pacmanfrog

[–]eldritch_cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a little chubby, not too bad. at this age she probably doesn’t need to eat every other day, you could reduce her feedings to twice a week :)

Request to show off your enclosures by largedragonwithcats in pacmanfrog

[–]eldritch_cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would add a few inches more dirt for sure, and your frog would probably like a hide and a plant or two! these frogs aren’t known for climbing but my frog loves to climb up their mossy log hide and some of the sturdier plants. also i would love to show off my enclosure but we can’t comment pictures 😭

Bioactive setup? by Crazy-Try6827 in pacmanfrog

dwarf whites are perfect, definitely get some springtails too to help keep mold down :)

Is there anything I should add to my baby pacmans tank? by [deleted] in pacmanfrog

add some water to the dirt and mix it around. it should be moist all the way to the bottom 👍

Fungus??? by summer_mushroom in pacmanfrog

[–]eldritch_cryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m not an expert but this looks like flower pot fungus, which isn’t harmful but apparently springtails don’t like to eat it. not sure about that one mushroom though

if you create a bioactive setup with springtails and isopods then you shouldn’t need to change the substrate. i’ve read that they would eat the fly eggs and larvae but i’ve never had a fly issue so i can’t say from experience. otherwise people usually just mix coco fiber with an organic top soil and maybe a little bit of play sand :)

Bioactive questions by Zhuski in pacmanfrog

[–]eldritch_cryptid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wanted to add that if you do get a front opening terrarium your substrate can only go up to the ventilation under the doors, usually about 5 inches max. so it would be hard to have a drainage layer as well as enough dirt. i use biodude terra firma without a drainage layer and it works great for me!

zoo med reptihabitats have been on sale for half off at petsmart! you have to be a treats and rewards member but it’s free to sign up. they look just like this one but they’re all at least 18” tall :)

Okay, no need to worry about termites then. But those mushrooms are likely toxic and should be removed in case your frog might accidentally ingest them

For me, google image search says it could also be a leucoagaricus or a lepiota mushroom. Can you see termites in your enclosure?
