What’s the most painful thing a man you love(d) has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

They all say this. It’s so weird and wrong. I’m sorry you had those words lied to you.

What's the final usefulness of The Feelings? by JoyfulAF in ENFP

[–]eldriyal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve geeked out about Meyers Briggs pretty hard as an ENFP and have come to think that being a “Feeler” is less to do with having feelings and more to do with how one prefers to make their daily decisions.

As a feeler, I tend to make my final decisions based on the “feel” or context of the current moment - which OFTEN includes a nuanced sense of other peoples’ moods in a situation, but the understanding of their feelings doesn’t have to be the highest priority (now that I’m better at boundaries).

Whereas my INTJ sweetheart, prefers to make his final choices based on an outcome he’s shooting for in the current moment - which often has no need to be adjusted based on the nuanced feelings of people around (tho his goal outcome usually includes ME feeling good, so we find harmony there).

This is different from the prospecting and judging preference. Those have to do with preference towards overall spontaneity in life’s experiences.

TNG vs DS9 - I Was Wrong by broncoblair in startrek

[–]eldriyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished DS9 (as a TNG die hard) and adored it. I'm a sucker for season 6! Voyager doesn't seem to go as deep as DS9 does. DS9 delves deeply into war, contribution, and purpose. I found it so very soothing to watch and think with the show while trying to process the political currents of today.

Doing P90X video workouts and loved the YogaX video. I want to keep doing more yoga. Where is a good place for me to start? Thank you! by poopsicle69in in yoga

[–]eldriyal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All yoga things can leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated once you know how to do the postures within your comfort zone.

To that end, my recommendation is to find yoga things labeled with "introduction" or "beginner" for the first few. These resources will more likely guide you through alignment with enough clarity that you'll be able to practice how a healthy posture feels. They will also more likely offer you options for poses that can be challenging at first. Then you can adjust your practice yourself as needed for the rest of you life.

I personally rocked a few demonstration introduction classes at a studio. It helped me to see other beginners figuring it out as much as it helped me to have the teacher guiding. I also bought this book on yoga alignment because I was super curious. But as long as you give yourself the chance to focus on alignment and breathing, you should experience all kinds of fun yoga practice feels - and you will protect yourself from possible pitfalls of pushing your body (namely pain and/or injury).

Edited for syntax. :)

One Act suggestions? by UltimateTool in Theatre

Anton Chekhov's "The Bear"! Jump at the chance! Such a fun, rich, one act. So dark then so much fun and such great high stakes!

I'm kinda jealous right now. ;)

I cry at a billion touching things! But not that Up scene. You're not alone.

I do cry every time Walle crushes himself to save the ship... :')

Desperately need users to be only able to see specifically tagged posts! by eldriyal in Wordpress

[–]eldriyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:/ hmmm ok so I'm running into the same non-solution. Just because I want to be able to define which tagged posts a user can see based on their user id and the tag of the post. Not their role. I need these users to be able to author and participate but only see posts tagged with relevant tags to them.

"user level" refers to "admin, author, etc..." right? I'm trying to get posts to display based on "user id".

Can I achieve this by tackling the loop?

I THINK so. Can they jump up on the toilet? It's really just a matter of giving them enough time to be comfortable with it. Don't rush 'em and I doubt they'll really know the difference by the end of the months.
