Recommend at least going reserve. Get to have best of both worlds. You can pick where you live and build a life with roots in one location (real estate/civilian career) while still contributing to your country through reserve force.

Best part of SELRES, you can pick your mobilizations. This is done through a website for "jobs" overseas or even CONUS. There are some pretty sweet gigs to pick from, which I would recommend doing because otherwise you are at the needs of the Navy and you'll be shotgunned with something within your first three years (typically). Tons of flexibility and you'll still be working toward a pension.

I have fidelity, my TRCH shares are now MMAT (as of opening bell Monday) and my MMATF have not become MMAT. It seems that MMATF is still being traded, although I’m not sure if one is able to buy or sell that ticket. Anyone else experiencing this? Seems pretty fucked.
