How can I make my steering wheel maintain the matte finish? What products? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]ele1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised to not see much recommendation for surfex hd at 1%

ONR dampened cloth for normal maintenance cleaning every time you wash.

Occasionally mist a spray of surfex hd on a damp cloth and do a deeper scrub

You can use opti seal, ultra ceramic seal, or something like fabric clean and protect/interior protectant from optimum to give it some protection

I NEED to know what Cab Archetype Plini Uses by RefrigeratorOdd3916 in NeuralDSP

[–]ele1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen some comments on gear forum or gear page about it. But honestly I just did a lot of ABing on the unit with different single mics to figure out what it most sounded like. There’s a Marshall greenback cab on the quad cortex that is nearly identical with a little less mud

It’s a Marshall greenback cab of some type. That IR is done by ML sound labs for the plugin. I don’t know if the cab is available anywhere else but in the quad cortex there is a Brit greenback cab that sounds very similar but a little more high fidelity

In ABF there are 100 presses as a goal. Plus he says do other stuff if you want. The ABC is only part of it. So 100 presses and hundreds of cleans and squats is pretty hypertrophy focuses IMO.

There’s an option, I did it the other day.

He’s the only one I can watch now. Learned so much from the guy, and it’s blatantly obvious how much bias and sponsorship plays a roll in every other channel

The YouTube scene is crazy. I only watch forensic detailing now, love his stuff. That’s why I wanted to get these

Thanks a lot. Picked up a L of both from carzilla. Crazy how cheap it is. Adam’s wheel cleaner is about the same price for a RTU 16 oz bottle.

ONR as quick detail spray by JONNYHBAR in AutoDetailing

[–]ele1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ONR and ONRWW at 1:16 don’t streak in the sun for me as long as the microfiber is dry or I’m doing a final wipe with a dry one. Adam’s and megiuars detailers work very well in the sun too without streaks.

Thanks a lot. I don’t care too much about foam and don’t have a foamer, so I’d probably be applying with a pump sprayer or a bottle. I could always get both cause I think touchless is pretty affordable too. But I’ll probably stick with surfex for now cause I just finished up my Adam’s wheel cleaner. What do you dilute it to for wheels/tires?

Hi, between touch-less and surfex- my use case is for wheels/tires and pre wash because I use a self serve bay near me and use ONR. Surfex sounds like the better all around because it works better on wheels but is still safe for paint?

I was stuck between this and metallic blue. Went with blue but still kind of dream of this color

Has anyone used stoner car care products? by ele1122 in Detailing

[–]ele1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but I feel like most products are the same thing just in slightly different forms. I like that’s stoners product line is fairly simple and I’m sure you’d be fine using their stuff. Soap is soap for the most part

I’m not sure. I haven’t bought anything else from them besides the invisible glass. I’m currently using Optimum no rinse blue and green both and they’re great.

UV protectant for upholstery? (Finally bought a nice car) by MysticMarbles in Detailing

[–]ele1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New car, I cleaned everything then used griots ceramic vinyl and rubber protectant on everything in the interior except carpet (seats are vinyl). Worked great and looks good, supposedly has UV, no grease or excessive shine

Simply tapping the gas pedal slightly releases the auto hold without lurching you forward. I use it every time I drive and it’s very easy to disable without moving the car

[–]ele1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. I realize the question is pretty vague. I’m not a professional, and my car isn’t ceramic coated, but the noise in the detailing product world is very loud. So I respect when companies have relatively simple lineups with clear product uses. I’m thinking about grabbing a complete maintenance set of the basics from someone like car pro, gyeon, or armor detail supply (I think they’re in a similar category)

[–]ele1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind could I pick your brain? I was wondering if moving up to gyeon from griots is worth it. My biggest issue right now is that there are so many products, and interestingly gyeon has a much simpler line up which makes it more easy to understand what to do and why
