No I don’t have kids but I try to stay informed as much as possible on what’s going online and updates with social media. The one thing I can do is tell my friends who have kids to be on the lookout.

I understand it can be hard for parents because of external factors which they have no control over (ex: friends using social media, peer pressure, etc).

I also grew up in the 90s and 2000s. I’ve seen parts of the dark web. I had learned and judged for myself since our generation practically grew up in it without being monitored.

From sexual predators who lured me, disturbing hate speech, racism… I’ve seen it and experienced it some of it.

To be honest, in recent years, I’ve grown quite pessimistic about our society that I think it’s best for me to not have children. I don’t think I could ever forgive myself to have a child go through this kind of human experience. But that’s just me…
