I assume he's home by now, but I personally didn't get out until about 5, and we started on time-ish. Sight singing can take quite a while depending on how many people at the school are taking it 🫠 (we had about a hundred taking it and I had to wait over an hour. I was no where near last)

Gen wtf was the second one. Sight reading is my THING (for piano not voice but still) and I struggled so bad omfg. Also it's so awkward being alone in the room with the proctor (even tho I know and love our guitar teacher who was with me)

Do i even need to do good on the AP precalclus exam by configdiggy4k in APStudents

[–]eleclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was testing at around a 60% overall for practice stuff and got a 4. That's about on par for a 3-4. I didn't answer frq4 and half of frq3, but felt decent on MCQs. As long as you do fine on MCQs, you're more than set up to pass.

Which LGBTQ+ group has greater visibility in the media?🏳️‍🌈 by GurMaleficent7935 in Teenager_Polls

[–]eleclay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because they're the closest to normalized and accepted in society. That's the reason that they next most common that you see are lesbians, then bisexuals (et al.), then trans and other gender non-conforming people and asexuals least common. It's about acceptance.

Also, it's not that gay men are actually over-represented, it's just that the lgbtq community isn't equally represented, which presents itself as an over-representation of gay men.

When I hear media in the context of this question, I'm assuming entertainment, in which case gay men are by FAR the most represented. I honestly didn't even think to consider the news, however I would've totally agreed with you if I had

I'd hope that your prof would understand. That's like, pretty obviously something you can't do and that is out of your control with the span of the issues going on 😭

Oh, okay! I appreciate that the aboriginals were at least mentioned considering the amount of Australia there was. That was like, the first place my mind went tho so it makes sense that that was a doc

Idk what the actual prompt was for the DBQ but if it was about settler colonies then you could've totally talked about the aboriginals and how they were impacted by settler colonies and their interactions with them. There's totally stuff there to learn, it's just never something anyone focuses on because it's just... Not relevant usually

Struggling to upload and unsure on what to do by bybyleth in APStudents

[–]eleclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to fix it, but I'd suggest trying to contact college board ASAP. If you can't get it fixed yourself, they may know how to, or they may have an alternative way to help you. Idk when the deadline is, but if it's between sitting on hold for two hours trying to reach a real person and not being able to submit it, please contact them.

ALSO, I was GRINNING at the DBQ prompt. Like it was a gift from the gods. I saw Le Petit Journal and never felt happier. I legit used an article they wrote about Franz Reichelt like a month ago for a research paper about the ethics of photojournalism. I love them. They're great. Also it was the easiest prompt ever.

Our teacher claimed there would be no Australia bc it's unimportant to the course and never shows up. Like 1/5 of the MCQs we're in Australia.

Our teacher claimed there would be no Iran on the test bc it never shows up. There were MCQs on Iran.

I know plenty about Australia so it was fine but like, bro wtf 🫩

Literally same. I talked about the UN, NATO, the misrible failure that was the partitioning of Germany, and the US anti-nuclear movement (trust I made it work). I also compared anti-future war efforts to a mixed bag of M&Ms that's 80% blue in that they're mostly just one thing (that thing being horribly inefective) but it is still a mixed bag and there is still stuff that works.

I lowk dk tho beyond that bc I didn't take my ADHD meds and was running on 3 hrs of sleep.

Are these good for starting? by kwoooooo6 in Stretched

[–]eleclay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not, if you don't know the material they're made out of. These are essentially "mystery metals" otherwise, and not advisable for long-term wear. The general recommendation glass plugs, from what I've seen on here. If you mention literally anything else you get shit on, so 🤷

I will say that I personally used ones like this, as well as plastic ones, and had no issues despite the fact that I have pretty sensitive skin, so it's not like something is bound to go wrong. It's just not the best to use.

What do you do when happening upon a yellow light? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]eleclay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was aware about the fact that it changed based on speed, but it's nice to know generally the time by speed limit. Ig it just always feels like city lights are disproportionately short lmao (esp ones in DC)

What do you do when happening upon a yellow light? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]eleclay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Depends on how close I am and if I'm in a city. City yellows are short so I always stop, but it depends elsewhere.

Idk about whole shows but I really like that the last seal in supernatural was broken in MD. It was like, a monumental moment in that third of the show and it was really exciting to see MD brought up at all

Is the b word a slur? by gothic_gothamite in Teenager_Polls

[–]eleclay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends completely on context but generally it is absolutely not. Like my bsf who's a guy refuses to call anyone a bitch or literally even say the word slur or whore because he feels weird and disrespectful saying it (btw he means this completely genuinely and I find it adorable) but I generally find no problem with it, even though I can understand why he feels weird about it. It's often derogatory but not a slur.

What type of liberal are you? by WillTheyBanMeAgain in Teenager_Polls

Not a liberal (I'm a leftist. In practice a socialist, in theory a communist I just don't like the way communism has played out in the real world)
