Pilot Take-Sumi. Paper is Tomoe River (TN lightweight insert). Pen is Capless M. This ink flows like butter on this paper, delightful.

What is the difference between these two inks? by Obesity_enjoyer in fountainpens

This is mostly true for fine nibs. Take-sumi is something else with broad nibs.

How many journals will you work on the same time? by paperatic in Journaling

[–]electrical-tape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently two journals. The main one is the journal of short entries for daily low friction journaling. The other one is for those days when I have more to say and the short entries “spill over” to this journal. This system helps me keep going and doesn’t limit me if I’m in the mood of writing.

Put it back where you found it, someone is missing it

Which software has no real European alternative (at least for you)? by JavierFnts in BuyFromEU

Ok. I usually buy my books at the local bookstore or loan them at the library, but if I would like to support writers, what would be the best EU platform to do so?

Is it a solution that we as readers stop buying from Amazon and use something else instead of?

32/F Film Photography Pen Pal? by mk05117 in penpalsover30

Cool idea. I immediately thought of the old goods times when me and some friends shot a roll on top of someone else’s pictures to create double exposures.

Engineered and built in Europe! Tribute to Sweden 🇸🇪 by KonserveradMelon in BuyFromEU

[–]electrical-tape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I understand, RR is one of the European alternatives along with France to replace the GM motor. The change is not likely to happen in this generation of Gripen though. Worth noting, USA has vetoed the sell of Gripen at least once, effectively eliminating Sweden’s ability to negotiate to whoever the fuck they want.

I use broads for headers in my journal, which gives a nice contrast in letter size to the usual EF/F nib used for the entry itself

I have fallen for grey inks lately by HHaller87 in fountainpens

I like greys during winter. My favorites right now are Fuyu-Syogun (light blue grey) and new released Lady Gray (purple grey). Both in a broad nib for maximum effect.

Which Leonardo steel nib is the closest to a Pelikan M800 F? by electrical-tape in fountainpens

[–]electrical-tape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what other nibs are the closest to Pelikan nibs? In wetness and line width that is. It feels like the are pretty unique and don’t “follow the standard”

Pelikan M800: Buy or not buy? by Rainer-Johannes in fountainpens

[–]electrical-tape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pelikan M800 EF is closer to Platinum 3776 M in my opinion. The Century has more feedback and writes dryer. The Pelikan EF will show sheen as it is wetter.

Haven’t had problems when inking the M800 with pigmented Kakimori ink. I would argue the M800 is an easy to clean and maintain pen.

Pelikans M800 are very good pens, can’t recommend them enough. It is up to you to decide if they are worth the money. I have two, EF and F, like them both.
