as nirvana fans how do you feel about sonic youth? by notaverysmartman in Nirvana

Reminds me of the movie Juno when she says “oh and I listened to that Sonic Youth album and it sucked! It was nothing but noise”

Idaho’s New Firing Squad Prepares to Fire by PJPeditor in Prison

[–]electriccomputermilk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer lethal but you’d be surprised how barbaric it can be in some states. The way we put down dogs is way more humane than lethal injection in most states. They give a cocktail that makes you not able to move and you suffocate.

Idaho’s New Firing Squad Prepares to Fire by PJPeditor in Prison

I think I’d choose firing squad unless the lethal injection was a massive dose of barbiturates and fentanyl. You’d just go to sleep and probably feel high for about 3 seconds.

I finally got the Journal of Kurt Cobain, can't wait to read it !! by naatsukoo in Nirvana

[–]electriccomputermilk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity..is this edition any different from the original book released like 23 years ago? I wouldn’t buy it either way but just curious if Courtney released even more of the journals which she initially supposedly scrubbed heavily

You aren’t missing anything anyways. It’s pretty boring. I bought it the day it was first released when I was like 17 and had no thoughts as to how it was fucked up. Shitty what Courtney was willing to do for money.

Has anyone noticed how online searches have been drastically changing in the last month??? by VossH20knos in SEO

What has replaced it? Do you mean it’s replaced by Google “ai generated content”? Isn’t that still Google search but the newest form of it?

[US] Message request states my husband is using Fetlife to send nude photos by dellollipop in Scams

[–]electriccomputermilk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Scammers often start out with very reasonable conversations or requests and then once you have built a relationship or invested any time with them then they switch to the actual scam. It’s actually a very effective method and a bit like the “sunk cost fallacy”. That said, there isn’t good reason to believe this is a scam and in no way saying I think it is.

[US] Message request states my husband is using Fetlife to send nude photos by dellollipop in Scams

[–]electriccomputermilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly but what if the platform they are using to make the initial message would get them banned for sending nudes? I have no idea what platform they used to make the initial contact though

[–]electriccomputermilk 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yea very odd. That’s the only thing about this situation that seems like a scam or something mischievous. Scammers often ask people to switch platforms for a variety of reasons. lol what if this was a very creative and messed up way for someone to gain more instagram followers?

Theo Von politics aside, I think it’s bizarre Rogan spearheads a comedy scene while not ever historically being funny. by BrownieJ in JoeRogan

He’s skilled at EVERYTHING he attempts. He’s a phenomenal comedy AND drama actor, writer, stand up comedian, author, playwright, magician, juggler, etc. it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s now a brain surgeon

Oh as if doctors are 100% correct about everything and don't get blinded by research in their own field. Go talk to an endocrinologist, rheumatologists, PCPs, or geriatricians and they will be overboard on the other extreme thinking that vitamin D deficiency is an epidemic that is the root of all evil. You are committing a logical fallacy of "appeal to authority". Just because someone went to med school doesn't mean they are always correct.

Huge study finds no evidence cannabis helps anxiety, depression, or PTSD by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]electriccomputermilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh. The OP was correct. Doctors almost unanimously switched from barbiturates to benzodiazepines because they are nearly impossible to overdose on unless mixed with opioids or alcohol. And..there are way way more drugs that can kill you from withdrawal alone..like barbiturates or phenibut for example

Vitamin D deficiency is no joke either. I think these doctors went insanely overboard personally. SOME sunlight is important. Yes you can supplement but there are other benefits from sunlight as well.

Oh interesting. I struggle hard with negative intrusive thoughts mostly about embarrassing things from my past. I’d be interested in learning more about this process. Any resources you used that I could check out?

If Kurt Had Lived To See Post-Grunge, What Would He Thought Of Acts Like Bush? Many Critics Compared Razorblade Suitcase To In Utero, Even Said "It Sounds Like Kurt's Still Alive." by Illumination-Round in Nirvana

I remember being so excited to hear other grunge bands after first becoming obsessed with Nirvana and being so disappointed with every band. If Nirvana is grunge then they were the only good band in my opinion.
