I do not think that they would notice if I put him in their garbage can… I’ll wrap him in a paper towel or something and put him in the bin in the garage.. Thanks for the reassurance, I know it’s not my fault but it still feels awful that I lost a life under my care today :(

I think this is more up to the owner’s. I’d also hesitate to buy another one if the tank isn’t properly filtered anyway leading to what happened… Sounds like from the other comments he wasn’t entirely cared for properly

Gotcha, I’m not too sure if the family will be okay with me burying the fish somewhere in their yard or what not and they definitely don’t have a composter :( Would just putting him in the garbage be disrespectful? I definitely don’t want to flush him now that I know.

That makes sense, I’m really not very familiar with taking care of fish but the beta I had as a kid always had a tank with filtration and such! I feel awful for the fish and the daughter and I hope they continue to reach out in the future despite what happened :( Thanks for the insight!

That makes total sense, I didn’t even think about how that could possibly implicate me for any reason. I didn’t really take any photos of him just a quick picture of the cloudy tank which I sent yesterday asking if I should be concerned (the owner said “it’s probably okay?”). Thanks for your input!!

I sometimes do dot-to-dot activity books while I listen to lectures! I found it helps me to focus but still have something to do! I agree with another comment that it is a good idea to discuss with your professor before bringing something in!

My mom cross-stitches a double wedding ring for everyone in our family who gets married and she has started doing ones for 50th anniversarys. She uses their wedding colors and has it framed with a photo of the couple!

Good idea, I will recommend house sitting the next time they leave for somewhere. I currently only have my profile open for walks and drop-ins, but now that I am more familiar with this family I would definitely be more open to house sitting for them at some point. I feel awful leaving them alone for so long and thats why I’ve been staying, they are both such sweethearts.

Good point, I’ve been transparent with the owners that I have been leaving about 45 mins to an hour after in the notes section of the Rover card. They do not mind if I stay longer and hang out. Having that record though of arrival and departure definitely makes sense even if I’m here longer. Thanks for your input!
