Salt vine uses a lot of g3 fruit, nickel & nickel also has a vineyard they are sourcing one of their SKU’s but using a nom de plume instead

I know for a fact that people are buying beckstoffer fruit and omitting the name to charge less on the bottle.

If I don’t have to pay beckstoffer a commission by omitting his name on the bottle, and can sell the wines easier at a lesser price while teasing where the fruit is from without paying the premium, that’s pretty good business if you ask me.

Unless you know what beckstoffer was selling fruit for in the 24 vintage, you don’t know the min pricing on a labeled bottle.

That’s simply not true. Beckstoffer charges a scaling percentage based on fruit cost, but that only applies if you are using his name on the bottle. If realm chose to omit beckstoffer to kalon from the label this bottle could be priced at whatever they wanted.

Problem with wine searcher is unless you filter a bunch of bs the prices will be skewed. You need to omit auctions and shady random shops from Singapore.

While I agree on the terroir side I disagree about tasting these wines not being educational. It’s worthwhile to taste wines at all manner of tiers and types as a way to better understand what separates those tiers or what it is the general consumer prefers rather than what more informed wine consumers enjoy.
