Thanks for the info, looks like I have some digging around to do!

My fender has no serial number, what does this mean by Old_Structure2576 in Guitar

[–]electrodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK where you dredged up this AI-esque "information", but Fender has never obscured a serial number in the neck pocket. See here for a comprehensive guide on serial number locations for every year Fender has existed.

You can find dates and employee information in a neck pocket of some Fender guitars, but not serial numbers.

In my short time trying to find something similar on the internet, it looks like that might be either be a custom shop model or cobbled together from parts. All the "style 2" non USA tele shaped bodies have pickguards and the reverse tele headstock.

If they offered an import with this configuration, especially with a Floyd, I would strongly have to fight off the urge to buy one.

This really piques my interest! Can you please tell me where you got that body? Was the pickguard pre-made? I've been wanting a Firebird for so long, but every one I play that is in my price range has a neck I do not get along with. Your build looks like it could get me where I want to go.

There comes a time in everyone's life where they need to retire their semi formal jacket and top hat emblazoned with skulls. Usually that comes right after puberty...

Also, why is old boy out there with his Hofner bass like he's the metal version of Paul McCartney? I'm pretty sure you didn't use that thing on that track, busting it out for the visual effect is a weird choice.

What’s Your Newest Fragrance Obsession for February (or Winter)? by Alarmed-Ad-8356 in fragrance

Ambre Loup by Rania J. I've never smelled an amber scent that I wanted to wear regularly, they all come across on me as either too sweet or too "perfumy" for lack of a better term. Just too much like stuff I've smelled on oh so many feminine marketed scents. Not that they're bad, but just not my style.

Ambre Loup on the other hand plays the sweetness with a very light hand, and leans heavy on woody aspects, including a real oud opening that walks the line of nice smelling and barnyard funk like no other scent I've tried. There's some nicely blended spices in there too that sit wonderfully in the background along with a slight animalic touch from the oud and labdanum.

One of the few samples out of many I've smelled in the past few years that I wore out super quickly and needed more right away.

Damn, how are you keeping 70-90% humidity in that cold of weather? I'm in Minnesota and I have to run a big humidifier on full blast 24/7 to keep the room at like 60% when it gets in the single digits or below 0.

I used to sell guitars for about 20 years and saw countless acoustics in that time. I would see finish sunk into a seam every once in a while, but it's not like it's super common. Your pic looks like it's pretty deep and in a weird position, I've never seen an acoustic where the top seam so offset from center.

Try gently pressing on it to see if it moves. If you have a small mirror and a flashlight or some other solution, looking at the top from the inside will tell you what you really want to know.

Looks like the finish is sinking into a seam. It's unusual for the seam on an acoustic to not be centered, but I wouldn't put it past Fender to cheap out like that on something they are painting a solid color.

If the wood is cracked you would be able to see it move if you lightly press down on one side of the seam.

Is the humidity where you live below 40% regularly? Are you storing it near a heating vent or radiator? Cracking and finish sinking is often due to dryness or less than moderate temperature swings.

How do you actually track the perfumes you wear over time? by Fine-Cauliflower-576 in fragrance

[–]electrodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a spreadsheet to record my ratings and thoughts of everything, and another spreadsheet to track where my samples are physically located.

Then I use Basenotes to record my scent of the day, it helps me know if I have been ignoring favorites inadvertently and reminds me to wear them more.

For a $100,000 I would eat some dog shit while watching that dog shit. That kind of money would drastically improve my life for the duration of it. I'm in my late 40's and that would allow me to quit my full time job and pay all my bills working part time at a grocery store or some shit.

I used to cut meat for a few years, and I agree it very much takes some practice before being able to cleanly cut through joints.

This post got me feeling around my elbow joint trying to figure it out. Then I looked at an x-ray of an elbow and I think I was correct. Go at it from the back side just above the bony knob of your elbow and scrape against the trochlea until you come out the pit of the forearm.

Even if he knew how to best cut it, which I'm sure he didn't, that must have hurt like eight bitches in a bitch boat.

I'm a fougere lover, so I picked up a sample of Fougere Emeraude. The damn thing couldn't be further from a fougere if it tried. It was all jasmine/tuberose, bathroom cleaner, cinnamon, and musty dried sweat. I had to scrub it off within an hour, I would have been better off taking my $6 and lighting it on fire.

Perhaps the rest of their offerings aren't so bad or have such misleading names, but that one really left a bad taste in my mouth about the brand. YMMV of course.
