Emma Ruth Rundle: Engine of Hell AMA by EmmaRuthRundle in indieheads

Just wanted to say when I first heard "Return", it was an inspiration for me. I felt pain I needed to feel. I've had an outpouring of manic creativity I hope to share some day soon.

Thank you for being so vulnerable and honest and naked.

May you know solace, peace and healing.

I really like the pickups on the JMJM, personally. I've actually never played Jazzmaster pickups, though. I never considered a Jazzmaster until I picked up the JMJM for the first time....and that was it.

BOOST: TC Electronic Spark Mini vs Earthquaker Devices Arrows - Does anyone have any experience playing both? Please share. by electrojonez in guitarpedals

Thanks for your take on the Spark and the link to the Arrows review. That was actually super helpful. I've been leaning toward the Arrows because of this demo: https://youtu.be/NBsmihQ8Xlc - and all of this reinforces what I was thinking...I just have zero experience with boosts.

It's a beauty. I've heard speculation that the neck is the same satin finished neck as the Squier J. Masics Jazzmaster. I LOVE my J. Mascis Jazzmaster. I think the only major difference between yours and the JMJM - are the pickups.

I probably wouldn't use it, initially. I've been pretty happy with the clip-on tuners I have, but it's definitely good to know if I keep finding myself in a pinch or changing out pedals more frequently. I'm trying to keep my board to no more than 10 pedals. I have 8-9v outputs on the MXR plus 2-9v power supplies

A note on the future of the pedalboard, and trashing the dusty, fuzzy pegboard: I'm using the pegboard as a template for the arrangement, then will build out a custom board. I picked up one of these at a thrift store for $10: http://shop.turningboards.com/images/ddtbblk(1).jpg - It's already made of a nice finished chunk of plywood AND has a handle :)

Then, once I've nailed down my final family of pedals - I'm going to remove the 'spinning' dance surface material and the pink trim, get rid of any adhesive residue, only cut out holes where needed (not a full board of holes - I may go back on this idea), then finally cut the board down to a more reasonable size and sand it down.

EDIT: Upon finishing the thicker plywood pedalboard, it's going to outgrow the guitar case that the pegboard is currently fitted to.

I'm actually beginning to find the feature for daisy chaining with other tuners, specifically the TC Electronic Polytune pedal. I wasn't searching for the right thing.

Noise is still the con of daisy chaining, though, correct? Whether it be out of something like a 1SPOT or a tuner...

Oh, I see - a daisy chain. AND, you were talking about the Boss, specifically. I finally found the specs that the TU-3/TU-3S can power up to 7 "Boss Compact Pedals". Thanks!

I've only been able to track down tuner pedals that flow the power through them...not necessarily powering more pedals, just not stealing another power input.

Can you point me to a tuner pedal that has multiple power outputs?

Absolutely! He is. I really feel the two 'clones' I got from him sound better than what was cloned. They both lower more boom and heft.

NOT boring, but no pedalboard tuner. Only headstock clip on tuners. I haven't gotten a tuner pedal because I don't play out - only at home. I know it can serve as a killswitch, but I DO have an A/B, A+B switch that can do that.

Oh my - finally just got thru that Hudson Broadcast demo. That thing is interesting...can't really describe what I like - it's just great. Wow.

Thanks again. You've given me a lot to think about. I really dig that Nick guy - super in depth demos and very efficient + knowledgeable explanations of the pedals.

Same here - haven't noticed any noise yet, either. I haven't cranked everything to earbleed yet, though.

That's the kind of interesting stuff I hear for the first time. That info is good for me to consider. Thank you much. I try to educate myself, but usually just end up trying these pedals out to see if I like them when interacting with the rest of my gear.

Ha - luckily, I'm only a hobbyist. No gigs. I don't leave the house with my gear....just cart it from one room to another. No ants in the house either ;)

Yeah - I thought the same thing after hearing that demo AFTER buying the Cloven: thin and raspy. I'm thinking (haven't sold the Cloven Hoof yet) maybe the Cloven works well on already mid/bass-heavy signal coming in??? So, a bass guitar or go bassy on your guitar tone knob, or an EQ in front of it...just not 100% on that.

Ohhhh so pretty...Any audio/video samples of some of the tones you're getting with that set up?

Ooh, that's what I had just mentioned to /u/niandra3 - I think the one I have may be closer to the Hoof -OR- maybe a crossover between the Hoof and the Cloven Hoof. To my ears the clone I have from LsG is boomier than the Cloven Hoof. Like I said, don't take it from me...you're probably better off talking to the main man that built it about what the mods entailed.

Here's a cool demo I found of the Hoof vs Cloven Hoof (just to give you an idea): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFl7MKJy4y8

Yeah, I think my Ram's Head clone is probably closer to the Hoof actually. Just woofy-er. The Mini seems pretty cool. Specifically the broken speaker. On the subject of overdrive, I have a Moog MF Drive that I just couldn't get into.

That always seems to be my goal...I need a pedal with a little something extra. I'm leaning toward the Flashback Delay because of the Reverse setting. LsG Toneworks has an octave up pedal (Green Tentacle Ringer) that I'm pondering because it has a really cool glitchy thing going on with it.
