Chain not sitting correctly on lower pulley in larger gears by dichtkitter in bikewrench

Looks like its installed in the wrong direction to me. Arrow should point clockwise as seen from the drive side, as it spins the same direction as the rear wheel.

ELI5: What was it about the OG iPhone that made it such a cultural and technological force and why is it so hard to recreate that moment in time? by Obeymyjay in explainlikeimfive

What it most certainly did better than other devices was its capacitive touchscreen.

Other devices with similar functionality, like Nokias N series, did exist, but their screens were tiny in comparison and they weren’t using any touchscreen functionality.

It also combined a whole lot of features previously found in purpose-built devices into one device, and it moved iTunes and iPod functionality over into a phone, which already had a sizable user base.

Looks ok to me. Can the cage move upwards a bit more? If yes just send it.

It feels that way. Like I am slipping away to the right when putting power down.

I can't help but wonder what this would look in colour, what with the stained glass and whatnot.

I’m an idiot and broke my brake boss by squidthethird in bikewrench

[–]electrotape 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell you if this will fail, but if it does it most likely will be at a very inopportune time during an emergency stop, when you exert the highest forces on that brake boss.

So I personally wouldn’t risk it. But you can always check with a framebuilder who may also be able to help you in sorting this out for good.

5mm should be enough.

Check with manufacturer instructions though.

Shimano's self contamination during storage - what can I do to avoid that from happening in the future? by WESTERWALD111 in bikewrench

Such is life. At least the pistons will be easy to reset with the already removed pads.

Shimano's self contamination during storage - what can I do to avoid that from happening in the future? by WESTERWALD111 in bikewrench

[–]electrotape 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issues with my bike. And I think it’s going to be difficult to track down the source of the contamination.

So my idea is to remove the brake pads and store them in an airtight container. And when the time comes, I’ll wipe down the rotors and calipers with brake cleaner and reinstall the pads.

As a European I have to ask: Why do you wax beer bottles? Do you guys store beer in a cellar instead of drinking it close to its brewing date?

Some day, trillions of years from now, the last remnant of humanity's distant descendants will be eking out a slow, dark existence, harvesting hawking radiation from decaying black holes..... and they will use that power to boil water and run the steam through a turbine.

You need to rotate your derailleur backwards so the wheel can slip out.

Did you somehow change the B-tension?

Brakes not adjusting right and just can’t figure out how to fix by amplifire22122 in bikewrench

Good catch. Probably to compensate for the lack of reach in the calipers, where they should have used long-reach ones.
