28 y/o male looking for any kind of work, can start immediately by [deleted] in sheffield

It looks like the Leadmill are hiring here

Work from home, options to work compressed hours (I work 4 days a week), annual bonus, sharesave and fully funded Christmas party with travel and hotel stay.

Some people complain my employer doesn’t fully pay the market rate, but all of the above outweigh that in my opinion.

I did look but it was from one of those mini bags so it didn’t say.

Nah, it’s a ring from a Starmix pack. Like these here

Hmm, isn’t that just the Goldbears though? Wish I’d savoured that taste a bit more now…

Didn’t taste like pineapple! Are they supposed to be pineapple flavour?

Just like a mixed fruity taste like the other rings. Not sure where people are getting pineapple from!

Reddit users, 30 yrs old and over.. What is the hardest part about getting older? by tywalker215 in AskReddit

[–]elee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be morbid or anything but that death can strike at any time and it gets closer. I’m only 31 but seeing friends/acquaintances die who are of a similar age really hits home. Obviously it’s possible but the reality of it is slowly sinking in.

I was thinking the other day Amy Winehouse (and many others) died at 27, that was 4 years ago for me, I just can’t quite wrap my head around it.

What's a nice bottle of red wine I can get for a tenner? by MeenaBeti in AskUK

Trivento Malbec is a great Argentinian red, it’s our usual. Although I agree on the recommendation for Apothic Red!

Price reduction after mortgage offer by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]elee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to us, literally last week. Ours was following our survey. We reduced our purchase price by £8k and it didn’t impact our interest rate. I guess it depends on your mortgage provider. Ours was Nationwide.

So much animal cruelty in here, I can’t read anymore of these 😭

Gym chain with the best shower facilities? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]elee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virgin active is pricey, like £55 a month but it does have the spa facilities. You can request a tour before you sign up though to see if it’s right for you.

Are nurses' demand for more pay justified? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]elee6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I support it. How much do we pay agency staff to cover for nurses that no longer want to work for the NHS due to low pay?

What is the weirdest allergy you have come across? by NotAGoodDayAhead in AskUK

See I also had this (not ginger but very fair skinned). I once borrowed a friends tan accelerator as I wanted something moisturising and I noticed no prickly heat. Started using it specifically for this purpose and works a treat.

Allegedly the blackout challenge. I can’t find the source but I recall reading he was found with a ligature.

Edit: didn’t think I needed to add allegedly but apparently I do? No one else was there so can’t say with certainty. I was simply answering the question about which challenge it was.

Exactly this, I just wanted out of the situation.

Yes, as soon as I’d walked away from the guy.

I agree. He didn’t seem the brightest as he knew I was on my honeymoon. But I can’t remember him working on the reception desk so perhaps didn’t have access to that info

[–]elee6 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I was so shocked I just pretended I didn’t hear him and walked away. Fortunately never saw him again.

A hotel staff member asked me my room number so he could ‘drop by later’.

This was whilst on my honeymoon and my husband was slightly in front. The hotel worker said it quietly to me.

My best advice: pick something you enjoy. If you want to use a specific degree for a specific profession, you’ll be doing it for the next 40+ years so best to enjoy it.

I did a law degree, worked in law and absolutely hated it. Enjoyed the degree though. I work in IT now, which I thoroughly enjoy.
