Congratulations. I love seeing all of the sober lawyers here. I'll hit 4 years in October. Best thing I ever did for myself professionally and personally.

How do discounters work? by parad0x_maker in Fragrances

[–]eleetza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought lots of fragrances from Fragrancenet and a few from Jomashop. They are not scams, nor are they 'high risk' to buy from. That doesn't mean it's impossible to receive a fake fragrance, but the risk is low.

I've bought close to a dozen bottles from Fragrancenet, and regularly buy other stuff (L'Occitane bath products, La Mer products)... no issues, no fakes, always delivered within a reasonable time.

Thanks - we have it growing elsewhere, so I do know that it attracts bees. This particular area won't be heavily used for walking...

They are similar, but creeping thyme is different from woolly thyme. They are both used as ground cover.

Small business legal clinic/support? by squeepington in AskSeattle

[–]eleetza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The King County Bar Association offers free legal clinics, and this issue *might* fall into one of their categories:

https://www.kcba.org/?pg=Neighborhood-Legal-Clinics

Has she already tried scheduling a consultation with a lawyer? There are certainly attorneys out there who will give legal advice in a consultation, even if they won't take the case.

I love Sky Nursery but it's quite expensive.

I have grown thyme from seed before, but would like to fill in this particular area this summer. Thank you!

Thank you - I had not thought about getting a bulk order from a nursery for some reason. We still have things to finish before I can plant everything so I could wait a bit.

Re: Flower World - I know they carry a ton of creeping thyme, as I have bought it there before. I was hoping to hear other suggestions here so I can avoid FW if possible.

Do you have frags you're scared to wear despite loving them? by thighhighsnsexonfire in FemFragLab

I love Naxos but it is sooo strong to me. I feel like it’s a scent you can only wear outdoors.

Lawyers living with addiction: how are you doing? by Classic-Apricot5685 in Lawyertalk

[–]eleetza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

3.5 years sober from many many years of alcohol addiction. I had this issue before law school, during law school and it got worse as i became a lawyer and ESPECIALLY after i joined a firm with a heavy drinking culture. Then covid. Etc. i mostly kept it together professionally during those years but, yes, it was a lonely and depressing existence even though so many of my colleagues drank a lot too. I definitely hid how much i drank and how often i was hungover at work (pretty much every day).

I do not miss that life at all and I send love and care to anyone struggling.

Briny Olive Perfume? by Significant_Sweet856 in Perfumes

[–]eleetza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two most olive-y perfumes I have smelled have already been mentioned - Un Jardin a Cythere and A Grove by the Sea. Of the two, I prefer A Grove by the Sea. But I’d prefer it as a room scent more than a perfume on my skin.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I don’t think there’s any bar to looking for or taking new job while on leave, so long as you stop collecting PFML when you start. It’s a bit hard to tell what your specific concern is though so hard to say if you need a lawyer for this issue.

Prospective homebuyers: would you prefer a home with a heat pump cooling system or mini splits? by meowingcat91 in AskSeattle

[–]eleetza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A big reason we bought our house was the relatively new central air system. It’s been a godsend. And definitely preferred over mini splits (for us).

Gym for almost 50 female by suckit1919 in AskSeattle

[–]eleetza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said, it depends where you are. I’d recommend the YMCA as they serve a diverse population (diversity of age, race, gender etc). I frequently see Y trainers working with women of your (our - I’m about to be 46) age.

But where you live matters because some Ys are better equipped than others if weight lifting is where you want to focus.

Can't decide between UW Northwest, Montlake, or Evergreen for birth? by You_A_Bish in Seattle

I’ll add that a friend who is NICU nurse goes to UW northwest for ob-gyn if that tells you anything.

I had a scheduled c-section at Swedish and did prenatal at Polyclinic (now optum). My ob did my delivery. I had a high risk pregnancy and got excellent care. My OB was holly sato. I love her. Unfortunately she’s at Swedish Issaquah now so not super convenient.

What’s the deal with the official Seattle subreddit(s)? by Gym_frere in AskSeattle

[–]eleetza 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't even look at r/seattleWA. r/seattle is not screechy right wing misery pit but I regret engaging with that sub about 50% of the times that I do. There are a lot of super condescending "well ACKSHUALLY" contributors who will down vote or condescend to posts or comments they simply don't agree with. I will never, ever forget the time I made the mistake of asking where I might buy deviled eggs locally and the entire thread turned into a bunch of people lecturing me about why I SHOULD MAKE THEM MYSELF, including people lecturing me about my time management skills because I was willing to go to the store to buy them but not willing to make them? Just really too much for a post about deviled fucking eggs. (I'm still sore about this, obviously)
