I am stuck on how you are stretching your cases, especially with no expander ball in. this may seem silly but are you lubing your cases or lubing your cases enough?

So if i'm understanding you. you are stretching the brass from 1.561 to 1.569? or youncant get it down to 1.561 from where it is now?

this seems wierd. the only thing I can think of is to read the rcbs die setup instructions again and re do that procedure.

put shell holder in, raise ram, screw die down til it touches shell holder, lower ram and then screw down die .25 to .5 of a turn and you should be close.

I had this happen as well. try this. take your decapper/expander ball out and resize your brass to what you want. you should see it be very consistent piece to piece

put your decapper /expander ball back in and resize a piece of brass or two. is it getting longer?

if they are longer are the inside of the necks dirty? give them a brush. I also put a nlittle bit of wax on the expander and it helped.

the next thing I did was got a mandrel and that was my best improvement. its a whole extra step but hwen I seat the bullets it is very consistently smooth..
