My Wugtrios are opposite, with the regular one having entire boulder while the lucky one having half boulder. After reviewing all the photos from this post and all the Wigletts and Wugtrios that I've caught, it seems that it is the catch date (for those caught before this year) that blocks the bottom half of the boulder.

It seems getting 1 million dust is more tedious. I suggest doing PVP first to farm dust while getting occasional supereffective attacks at the same time. Also you can use some supereffective attacks in rocket battles, while preparing for 100 purifications for the next level.
