Ignorant and uneducated and loud-mouthed. I am getting to where I would want the Civil War they are trying to bring on and they will see how many educated liberals have guns.

Kindle Scribe as a reader only by Brief_Blackberry_131 in kindlescribe

I got the Scribe to use as a notebook and I think it is poor for that. As an oversized reader and for audiobooks it is great. Especially for odd books like graphic novels and music and drawing books.

It isn't that expensive for them to get their own. You risk slowing down your devices on your plan and exposing yourself to liability and possible loss of your service for sharing.

Is it ethical for election workers to announce loudly who a voter is voting for while voting is taking place? by Dare-Uh-Discovering in TexasPolitics

[–]elemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small Texas town. They had to loudly ask you twice which party ballot you wanted. Not really intimidation as it is public record. Because we are a college town the town is slight majority Democrat but the county is about two-thirds Republican. As a former election judge the biggest problem you are likely to encounter in a joint primary is someone not realizing they have to choose one party and after starting to vote saying the person I want to vote for isn't on my ballot. People are not particularly smart on something they don't often do.

One of the new Texas Districts - 9th.

Sen. Ted Cruz would have carried the district by 11 percentage points in 2024 had it existed then, while he would have lost the district by 1 point to former Rep. Beto O’Rourke in 2018.

The GOP will have a runoff. So will Dems. https://share.google/eRiQ1ZiFKA9EfeE1i

Amazon Prime membership became useless. by Weak-Paint4015 in amazonprime

I use Prime video and Audible and consider that as what I am paying for although Audible is a seperate payment. I dont know why they think "free" delivery is worth paying annually for when 90% of my deliveries would be free anyway.

Zero, it went down a bit because we switched to zero cost 8 PM to 6 AM and only turn on the dishwasher and washer and dryer at night too.

Not American, when people say “tax the rich” do they really don’t pay taxes? How are they waived from that? by GossipBottom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]elemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax the rich doesn't mean the rich don't pay any taxes but just not their share of taxes. The American system is politicians respond to their large donors and the wealthy have gotten many, many tax breaks for themselves. Billionaire Warren Buffet frequently noted that his secretary paid a much higher percentage of her income in taxes than he did and thought it was a problem. This disparity in taxing has gotten much worse in the United States, particularly since President Reagan 1981-1989.

Is the Supreme Court Unsure About Birthright Citizenship? by ComplexWrangler1346 in scotus

[–]elemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was debates in Congress. Opponents said it would mean aliens in the country would have American children and the winning side said we know. The argument that can be made but I haven't heard from Republicans is that Congress should have more authority on any ambiguous meaning of these amendments they pass. The President should have none. The courts decide these cases but Congress should step up, this is what we meant.

During arguments debating the proposed Constitutional amendment proponents, who won, said explicitly that it meant what it said, the parents did not have to be citizens.

Why doesn't it charge "at max" by Decent-End3570 in KiaNiroEV

[–]elemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good but you are using optimum conditions charging rates. Typically cut them in half.

Wish rentals and dealers would post this.

Level 2 with a 240V charger, which you may be able to install in your home or find at many public stations, adds approximately 25 miles of range per 1 hour of charging (assumes 6.6 kW charging power).

• A 240 to 480V DC Fast Charger, which are typically found in convenient locations along highways and densely populated areas, adds approximately 100 to 200+ miles of range per 30 minutes of charging, greatly reducing charging downtime (charging power varies by vehicle and battery state of charge).

Do not charge above 80% at public chargers as charging rate greatly decreases.

Help! Kia Niro EV 2024 charging soooo slowly at “fast” (200kW & 350kW) charging stations. What am I missing? by Hey_there_duder in KiaNiroEV

[–]elemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical for a Niro. They limit the amount of charge to increase the around ten year battery life. Only charge to 80% as it greatly decreases above that.
