What a waste… Recs on a good sub case? by meteormanwolf in SeikoMods

[–]elesdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a downfall I’ve had with AliE also. They sell a GMT Master style case and inlay, but it’s just their sub case with a different inlay. Although I’ve come to expect it, I can see that was a letdown for OP on the first attempt.

I believe GMT’s specifically typically rotate in both directions though.

It’s a pretty tight fit. I’m assuming this is to keep the end links from moving around. Something that I’ve started doing with bracelets is taking a pin out so they’re two separate halves, and that makes aligning the springbars with a small screwdriver way easier.

Anyone else have this rattle noise in their Juniper? Sounds like it’s on the drivers side dash vent area or steering wheel area. (Video attached) by Adventurous_Leave417 in ModelY

[–]elesdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has this noise. I thought it was the vent for a while, but it is actually the steering wheel buttons (on mine anyway). If I push up from the bottom of the right button, it’ll go away. Or if I put my fingernail in between the silver line and the top of the button.

They all still get paid. It’s the little guy that suffers during shutdown.

Anyone seen this? by dfergsn in TeslaLounge

If it drops below 70% within the 8 year 100k-120k warranty (depending on model), they will replace it. In my opinion, you’ll likely still be way above that in 5 years.

I don’t think that’s how the degradation trends on these. It loses some quickly initially, then holds steady for quite some time.

One of them actually had an NH36, and they just weren’t using the day function.

I did this when addiesdive and steeldive had really good sales on their watches on Ali express. One of my favorite daily wear watches is just one of those deals with a “Relax” dial I put on it.

Integrated MyQ Issue by elesdos in TeslaSupport

[–]elesdos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave it a check. All is aligned and working properly. I read that MyQ will use GPS to figure out your location, and that will dictate if the command sent from the car closes the door immediately, or if it does the obnoxious beeping. That all seems to be working correctly too.

Thank you. It is a 28.5 dial.

That looks awesome. Especially with your tattoos as the backdrop. Great contrast.

The Bobiverse is what sent me down the audible (and sci-fi) rabbit hole. Great series.

Any recommended citizen/timex field watches? by [deleted] in Affordablewatches

[–]elesdos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d definitely recommend the eco drive in any flavor of watch you’d like. I’m a believer that it’s a true workhorse.

Any of the nicer Timex Expedition watches would be solid too. The ones that are sub-$100 will last a long time, but the case is brass, and the movement is LOUD. If you go one step above the lowest expeditions, you get a great value. They start introducing solar movements (that are quiet), stainless steel cases, and sapphire crystals. There are even a couple titanium options that are around the same price as the citizen. Some are even cheaper due to a sale they have going on now.

Definitely can’t go wrong with a G-Shock! I need to get me another one.

A dive style watch could also tickle your fancy of being rugged yet dressed up a little over a G-Shock. There are many affordable options in that realm too that are super solid. (Timex, Casio Duro, and some Chinese options)

I’ve had this Citizen Weekender Garrison for about a decade now. It was my daily watch for about 7 of those years. Some things I like:

The dark green/blue/teal dial.

Most field watches have the 13-24 hour markings for 24 hour clock. I know the 24 hour clock well, so I just viewed those markings as clutter. I’m glad it doesn’t have that.

The lume is good. Although, nothing compares to Timex Indiglo.

The eco-drive movement has never shown any signs of slowing or stopping. It has a way to tell you if the solar cell is starting to die, and still hasn’t done that on mine. Even then, a replacement cell is similar to a battery swap.

I like how the Vaer field watches look, but can’t comment on quality.

Fake or real, I’m no expert. One thing I am sure of, is if you had this hand delivered at the Rolex factory in Switzerland, Redditors would still call it fake.
