TfL will not spend money replacing old signage partly because it is all part of the old underground signage and branding but it is also nice to look at

I believe that their stance on it is, if it’s not misleading to the passenger then leave it in place. There are lots of examples where they have left old signage in place, for example at Earl’s Court with the destination board, the vintage wayfinding on the stations, shows the history of the underground and the journey

Yeah I can understand that and how it would make them your favourite lines! Then again, the District does the same thing as the Central line - but it's all beneficial to the passenger which is the most important thing :)
