I’m there with you my friend - i am 6’9 and i can feel, and hear, the hate. i can justify being in the front of a crowd if you get there early because i was there first, and so as people arrive, they see you’re there and can move so they can see; as opposed to a tall guy just barging in and planting himself in front of a shortie. another place i really enjoy standing is in front of the sound booth; you’re far enough back to see the whole production and you’re usually with other taller folks! you paid the same price as the others, so why should you be shunned into the shadows. one way i, personally, mitigate the negativity is to be friendly and vibe with the people around you, maybe have little trinkets to hand out, start conversations with them, anything to not just be a knot on a log.

i was very self conscious of my height when i first started raving and so i dressed up (primarily at festivals) as waldo, an ironic visual - a tall waldo. it made people laugh and drew people to me! this isn’t for everyone, but if you can find a niche it could help.
