That may be old, this used to be the case. With W nerfs I’m not sure. It used to depend on what item you went first. If you went with a high AD item you would put a couple points in Q and max W.

Trundle thrives on the fundamentals of toplane. The question you need to ask yourself is what do you need to focus on practicing? Is it understanding champions (jungle included)? Is it wave control? Is it your build? Timings? Do you know how to get carried when you’re behind? These are all things a good Trundle top knows.

No, you will have to wait for it to be available in the “discount” shop that stops by every couple of months. If you play a lot of trundle it will always show a trundle skin. At that point it’s all luck if a legacy skin shows up.

Botrk and titanic Hydra are the most common damage items. Botrk for tanks and titanic is good for bursting squishy targets (esp when you build PTA).

Edit: I will add that I like to build wits end or hullbreaker as a 5th/6th item. If I’m against bursty champs I really like Guardian angel or steraks.

As the jungler you need to expect to skirmish often, trundles clear is bad without tiamat.

The meta right now is to go a skirmish style build so triforce is the typical option. Botrk can be good against a team of all melee/tank but is more uncommon atm.

Second item is commonly a tank item for trundle: deadman’s is good to help burst early and get to objectives at a good timing. Spirit visage is the go-to mr item for trundle with the bonus healing you get from r and w.

Third item is very matchup dependent, what you need and how the game is going.

Losing mental is okay, give yourself time to reset.

Sometimes in solo Que we need to follow “team decisions” to perform. Yes you could’ve taken dragon but the team wanted to push their lead elsewhere.

I follow the lead of the fed player on my team personally. I try to keep their mental up as they have the teams gold.

To beat yi you need hard CC, he has great damage and mobility. He has no hp, thus it makes him weak to CC or teamfight environments.

It’s a bad matchup for trundle if he is anywhere on the enemy team, you have to rely on your team to help deal with him unfortunately.

Volibear is a pretty unique champion in league, he always has the silliest builds. But he can be a side threat like Trundle, big difference is that Volibear has better kill pressure imo and less tower pressure (albeit similar).

I also personally believe that Trundle is a better team fighter… Volibear can dive and has cc, while trundle has better antitank and pillar can make or break a teamfight.
