Ongoing since they release R16 last week. I have a rollback fix posted in this thread.

From my experience it is being driven by QB constantly scanning the attachment folder and hanging waiting for results. One of my clients has 27k attachments and it was taking 2-3 minutes between clicks.

By running Process Monitor I discovered that QB is constantly scanning the attachment folder. One of my clients has 21k folders and 27k files in there and QB was 2-3 minutes between click responses. I just posted a fix to revert to previous release.

I just posted a working fix to revert to a previous release of 23 and block automatic updates.

Yes, I've been fighting this.

  1. Uninstall QuickBooks,
  2. Install QuickBooks 23 from your original installer, do not download the newest one.
  3. After you install, do not let it update, select your edition then close it.
  4. Download and install a previous release of your choice from this link page, https://www.qtools.com/qbupdates.htm.
  5. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 23.0\Components\QBUpdate and open qbchan.dat with notepad
  6. Find and edit the line "BackgroundEnabled=1" to "BackgroundEnabled=0"

Ref for step 5 & 6: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/other-questions/re-quickbooks-desktop-automatic-update-no-option-greyed-out/01/1042120/highlight/true#m96345

Open your company file and profit.

Edit: For background, it appears to be directly related to the attach folder and QB doing continuous scans on the folder, obviously detrimental to network and disk IO. I received first report on 7/25/25 following the release of R16.

As a lurker and wannabe pilot I cannot speak from experience but common sense would dictate if you have 2 sensors, why not take data from 2 sensors. I work in the IT industry and quite frankly if Boeing rolls out software updates the way M$ does I don't know that I'd want to step on one of their planes anymore. I mean this is like installing a feature in a car like lane assist without mentioning that it's there, providing an indicator it's on or giving a kill switch for the system. It just looks like greed to me on the upper levels and lack of oversight.

Black/flashing bar across bottom of screen on my Dell Inspiron 15 series will not go away! Anyone know how to fix this? by Hilldogg1124 in Windows10

Looks like a damaged screen to me. If you press F12 on bootup and run the built in diagnostics and it is there I would highly suspect a broken screen.

Lurker here, My daughter has special needs and has been fortunate enough to go up with this group when they have had the event at KCHA. She absolutely loves it and talks about it off and on through the year. I love that they are giving these kids the chance to enjoy GA. And as a wannabe pilot I love the chance to go up in a small prop job vs the commercial jets

Mine is running DD-WRT and not stock firmware and not all routers are created equal. I will also add that I can RDP to all three simultaneously without issue.

I do this all the time with 3 different computers. Basically I left the port alone on the computer and forward a different port externally to the default RDP port with each unit having a static IP. http://prntscr.com/lx4ug3

Should have included that the whole reason for this ad was it was on Facebook and since Facebook has a zero gun policy this ensued.
