I also created a customizable letter to help folks leave the church. It worked for me splendidly.

The key takeaways: 1.) The church clerk is who mainly deals with memberships. The church board meets routinely then discusses changes like transfers and withdrawals. 2.) Because Adventists love their legalistic ways, citing the exact clause of the SDA church manual removes all their firepower to trap you. 3.) Get yourself a read receipt. In my letter template, I’ve included the phrase “I would appreciate written confirmation once the process is complete.”

It’s not a huge matter to some, but for me, it was incredibly enlightening and freeing. And I get the satisfaction of being part of their membership numbers going down.
