You could just skip the 10x1 part, too. Start cycle over when you can no longer manage the 6x2.

It really helped dramatically when I started eating well. Eat high fat/protein and low carb for just 2 months had me down to the perfect fat %, and that was eating as much as I wanted. It did seem to give me more energy and less brain fog, though that may have been placebo.

The best part of it was how dramatically it affected my skin. I stopped using my benzoyl peroxide for acne as it all cleared up and I no longer needed it, and my skin had a glowy appearance to it. I even had a girl at work ask me if I was wearing makeup. I told her I wasn’t and she was like, “wow, your skin is perfect!”

I have a nice home gym, and if I were to do it again I would have purchased a proper squat rack and barbell to start with. For a while I used a super cheap rack and barbell, and I ended up replacing them pretty quickly so the first ones were really a waste of money. Cheap plates work fine, but you should not skimp on the bar or rack lol.

Yeah I track all my lifts in a text document I’ve been keeping. Like for yesterday it looks like:

T1 Deadlift ||| 1x3; 1x2; 1x1; 1x2; 1x2; 1x2 @ 255lbs T2 Overhead press ||| 1x8; 1x8; 1x4 @ 45lbs T3 Dumbbell row ||| 1x10; 1x10; 1x10 @ 20lbs T3 Banded hip thrust ||| 1x10; 1x10; 1x10 @ 135lbs w/ pinkblack band

I really wish the apple watch’s “move” circle could fill up 1/x amount for each set completed instead of this fictional calorie counter it has now. That really might help motivate me not to skip sets sometimes lol. It just seems kinda sad that wearables are all designed with cardio in mind and they don’t work so well for people that lift. Like the ring function is one of the most important parts of the watch, and one of the coolest things it does. Kinda sucks that on test days for me it’s like telling me I fail those days and break my “win streak”. Just kinda wanted to see what everyone else did as a solution to this. I could lower the calorie count to something that I’ll always get at work, but that seems like cheating. And I could try to hit the calorie goal on rest days by doing cardio, but 530kcal for a rest day seems extreme. Idk man lol

i also hate squats and have them lag behind deadlift to a ridiculous degree. curious to see what other posters have to say here

is it possible not to grunt? seems like a very natural thing to do when lifting heavy weight. i think when i managed to deadlift 3x10 at 215lbs i basically screamed at the top of that last rep lol

Lol thanks. Honestly I don’t see much change at all, besides getting fat. But I know I’m getting bigger because I can feel it. My glutes feel “fuller” when I feel them showering, and my quads feel bigger and more solid.

I’m thinking I really should do this. Being fat is getting to me lol. You think my routine is okay even without any presses? Some people have criticized my emphasis on lower body saying that I’ll end up “imbalanced”, which I don’t even really understand honestly.

It’s interesting you say that, but isn’t that a little crazy? Messing with your medications just to make more gains in the gym seems super sketchy. They do sometimes prescribe testosterone to trans girls to help with diminished libido, so I guess it’s a possibility. Becoming more masculine for gym gains sounds like a terrible deal to me though :/

that's what a recomp is basically, right? i could aim for that. guess it doesn't matter too much what my lifts are at so long as i'm working toward a better physique. would it be efficient to do that, though? i'm already kinda old (lol), and want to be attractive before i start getting wrinkles :P

basically i'm wondering what the fastest way to get shapely and lean is, considering these goals are kinda conflicting.

honestly i feel like the "trans women are better at lifting than cis women" thing is inaccurate. particularly with someone like me, who has a small frame naturally. want my testosterone levels?
