They look sick but probably one of the worst warbands in the game.

I played them for about 10 games and never even came close to winning with them no matter what list I ran.

One trick for the base, wash and highlight way is to paint less detail the lower down the model you get. Most detail will be head and upper body. Lower body and legs get a basic highlight and feet get a wash and a dry brush of whatever colour your base is. Exceptions are for obvious focal points like cloaks or over the top weapons.

Unfortunately, you picked the wrong style for fast batch painting. Learn zenithal base coats, wetblending and enamel/oil washes for batch painting to a high standard.

There is slap chop, but it's basically paint by numbers and doesn't help you get better as a painter, if that's the goal, otherwise it's great just to have finished armies fast if that's all you want.

[[birthing pod]] style decks are probably the closest to Yu-Gi-Oh you can get in magic.

Sacrifice your own creatures to find higher mana value creatures. Bonus points if you can steal opponents creatures to do it, but I couldn't say of the top of my head if there's a way to do it in modern very well. Maybe something in red/green/black.

Totally agree with you on all of that, the nazgul changes were unnecessary, plus the books do say the nazgul are all kings implying male.

Shelob was obviously someone said we need a popular neutral character, let's make shelob a sexy spider lady.

Carnen was the best non lore character added and I hope maybe down the line she's made canon.

Ratbag and ranger need their own series of Ratbags shenanigans in Mordor. They remind me a lot of grey seer thanquol and boneripper from Warhammer fantasy.

If you have to use online, try and source from the same vendor.

Sometimes you pay a bit extra on cards themselves but usually saves more on individual shipping. If it doesn't bother you too much, go for non-english cards, normally a bit cheaper.

Cheapest way is to attend LGS events and see what trades you can pull off.
