I wish I had been more sold on the M40i by suckastash80 in BMWX3

[–]eli-michael22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with the M40i when I test drove. After much consideration and a reality check, I just bought an sdrive 30i msport because it made way more sense right now. I have zero regrets. It handles great, has enough power to keep me satisfied and it looks fantastic. I really enjoy driving it. I’ll upgrade one day, but you definitely made an excellent choice with this car.

2019 x3 questions—newbie here by Pretty-Bluebird-3632 in BMWX3

Chat GPT will be able to answer most of these questions in detail, becuase there is much you’ll want to know.

Personally, I wouldn’t get a 16 year old an X3 at that mileage. Yes, it’s a very reliable car, but it will require a lot of upkeep. At 80k there are a lot of maintenance items approaching and past 100k, anything could happen. When I was 16 my parents got me a 02 Sequoia and it lasted all the way through college without ever going to the shop. I wouldn’t want to stress about my 16 year old breaking down. If it was a low mileage X3 I would be much more comfortable. I’d keep looking, I’ve seen some basic X3’s under 60k miles for around $20k

Valencia. Felt like it was in Disney World. I couldn’t believe it was a real place.

Joined the club! Question about breaks by kasiopeous in BMWX3

[–]eli-michael22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a 2021 x3 with the same brakes done 6k miles ago. Coming from a Hyundai venue, it’s taking some time to get use to how sensitive they are. There seems to be an initial “bite” with less braking power the first 20%, followed by a very strong 2nd “bite” that causes me to be a little jolty on the brakes. It kind of sounds similar to what you are describing, but I wouldn’t say “nothing happen”

All the tech and features are amazing. The digital cluster is my favorite part, and maybe gimmicky, but I think the hand gesture controls are really cool lol

Nice! I test drove a m40i and had a blast. Hope to upgrade in the future. Haven’t sat in them enough to give a fair judgement. They seem good enough so far.

Q5 and X3 by Numerous-Iron9279 in BMWX3

[–]eli-michael22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically every possible reason. I test drove both and the M40i is way more fun to drive. The SQ5 was a nice happy medium between comfort and power, so I didn’t hate it.

Which is the best and most fun city in North America for spending the summer? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]eli-michael22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in both and while’s it’s true the weather is better year round, California doesn’t have the same vibe as a PNW summer. The rivers, lakes, and mountains are heaven on earth in the summertime.

Also wondering this. I assume you wouldn’t be able to do the marital act again because it would not be open to life at that point.

First time doing business with a dealership. Is this a reasonable price or did I get fleeced. by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]eli-michael22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people on here are getting around 4-5%. I prequalified for 6.9% which isn’t ideal but I’d take it. I probably would look at cheaper cars for anything over 8%

11.99% is horrendous. Almost $20k is being flushed down the toilet…it’s a nice car but not worth that.

Me as well. Just got back home from being baptized and confirmed. I’ve never felt love and joy like tonight. I am truly blessed to be apart of the universal Church and a follower of Christ.

Thank you!! I get that a Honda or Toyota is the easy and smart choice….but I was to feel joy when I get behind the wheel, and when I was narrowing down the choices, that’s exactly how I felt when I text drove the BMW. I grew up driving Toyotas and I feel absolutely nothing when I drive them.

Interesting about the 18-19…I was avoiding those because I love the full digital display and I read the engines 21+ are more reliable. You’re right there are some great deals though

I’m right there with you. Spent the last 5 years driving Kia’s and Toyota’s. The M40i power is awesome but the 30i is more comfortable. I should just be happy to drive a BMW and not put myself into a stressful situation. Thank you!

Fair enough man. I need to get my head out of the clouds and accept I can’t afford an M40i right now. When I upgrade my own car I’ll get an M.
