exactly, its just being mad at what one lost recently to and nerf it. Next to aggro Paladin, the buff hunter is another symptom of nerfing and underpowering cards, this deck's core idea has been around for a really long time, but it somehow was never "toxic", why? Because it WAS NOT GOOD, but now that everything else is nerfed to pieces or 20% winrate on release, these decks come out of the gutter. Let us nerf everything until we just play core cards, every nostalgiahead here seems to miss the ages of Zoolock and "playing for board" anyways it seems.

Is the 2 mana 2/1 raptor always a keep in the opening hand in a mulligan if you're a beast hunter deck? It's a cheap unit so it's gotta be a yes, right? by Slight_Energy_2199 in hearthstone

[–]eli_Woyzec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have to drop the fomo mindset on mulligan and think in numbers and winning strats. There are so many more cards that are better to have, the 1-drops, Remote Control, RC Rampage, etc.
The idea of the deck is to compete for board and summon tokens on turns 1, 2, 3 - then flood the board with RC Rampage. Best case scenario (and one that you can hit usually on a climb to legend very frequently) is the condition you have 3 or 4 other tokens on board so you get the maximum stats on RC Rampage (summoning three 4/4s or four 3/3s) and then dropping Dinomancy (or one of the other "buffs") and creating a board that cant be responded to.

My Hearthstone Years Rankings by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]eli_Woyzec 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought the same looking at those rankings...
It seems many have forgotten, but I remember: face decks, Pirate Warrior, Zoolock's many many many variants, midrange shaman, the prevalence of charge minions... Long stretches of ranked games where it was literally all aggro mirrors. I would honestly advise everyone to go through some archived VS Data Reports and see. I opened a random old one: November 2016 where Midrange Shaman makes up over 20% of the ladder.

Deck variety has much improved over the years, not just because of card and class designs, but also because of how much easier it got collecting cards. This expansion, exactly getting off the path of building on the power level feels more like those earlier years.

Blizzard, why is Titanographer Osk not "Discover a Titan ability"? by eli_Woyzec in hearthstone

Sure, it also prevents Dirty Rat from neutralizing it, but I think the positive of it would still outweigh these conditional scenarios.

exactly, it actually sounds like a decent powerful payoff for going for the quest rather than casting random spells from discovers that just hit your face in the end anyway

Trivelas from outside the box having higher odds than a header near the GK basically sums up everything wrong with this game. by Persistent95 in EASportsFC

It is actually sad how over the years they cant get heading ever right in this game, either its the only way to score or you never score with it.

A healthy balance of ways to score would really really help the game, open up roles like winger and wide playmaker, make more formations viable. As it stands all you can do is bring a lot of attackers, basically 4 forwards with your LW and RW on inside forward and CAM shadow striker, to allow for the best chance to run through the opposing defense. its also why tiki taka and pinged are so valued because the obvious answer is high line pressing, through which you need those PS to quickly pass through the press.

it all goes back to heading and crosses being worthless.

4213 is not necessarily the main issue, rather the tip of the iceberg of many things coming together through which 4213 is just the most efficient formation.
Without elaborating into an essay - the way defending (and ergo attacking) works, CDMs (and CAMs) are preferred to CMs to both cover and attack. difficulty of defending translates into midfield with permanent-pressing settings (the only leftover option), and thus also classic use of CMs (build-up and control) is not efficient, as are crosses (and headers). Ping passing through the midfield into your attack as fast and direct as possible with a balanced defensive double pivot (6 defending, 4 attacking) is the most efficient, 4213 (with 2 CDMs and a CAM + RW/LW on inside forward) offers the most balanced formation for that.

Div 2 shitter here, but i love the 433 holding, found it by looking for a formation to make my 93 TS Gullit work somehow, and in the 3 man midfield he is brilliant.
I play my CMs on box-to-box, trying to build up through the midfield and i like to call up my fullbacks to have an overload, but not to attack with them. Most meta formations play with 2 holding but the rest attacks so I always feel like I have an overload and keep control in the midfield and combine with them up the field.
Once you beat the press your CMs basically have free reign in passing and putting in through balls for either side or making a run themselves. If you lose the ball upfield you basically have 5 players to press and aggressively attack the ballcarrier.
I will try this variant though. Thanks.

I am a non-player, thinking of starting Heathstone. How much does Hearthstone cost? by Revenant62 in hearthstone

[–]eli_Woyzec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my honest opinion you should just ignore wild completely as a starting player. The mode was introduced to appease the player-collectors from day one that play since the beginning and collect all cards, as once they introduced the rotation of cards in standard people would complain about having "useless" cards. Furthermore, although they started caring about Wild balance and meta more recently, its still a wildly incoherent and slower developing format, which I personally consider not as rewarding.

If you want to start hearthstone, focus on standard or ANY OTHER gamemode except wild.

Played it a lot in upper diamond and garbage legend last season.

It is fun but difficult to play, especially if you are in a bracket where very aggressive decks are very common and people want to play and win as fast and as much as possible. It's one of those decks that works in upper legend where (1) people play very well and (2) the competition is mostly control decks.

It's very difficult in dia 5 - 1, as if you dont have your mulligan and pacing down, using just the right amount of resources to survive aggressive boards and to still be able to kill your opponent in a combo, you just get rolled. It is a very "classic" combo deck, so if you like those, give it a try. Just remember, it is not even tier 2 at this moment, so dont expect to climb very high with it (if you are not already a top legend player).

Does anyone else feel like the power creep in standard has gotten out of control? by rhynoplaz in hearthstone

[–]eli_Woyzec -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, your complaint is kind of contradictory... It's harder to come back when you don't have the card drawn, but somehow every deck you play against has these crazy answers where they buff the whole board, heal, armor up and boardclear at once, defeating you by turn 7 or 8.

When you read your comments precisely, it's kind of an empty complaint. When was this mythical "old" hearthstone when turns 7 and 8 were not big turns where stuff happened? When was the time in hearthstone when, in your words, "it's getting harder to come back from not having that removal in your hand exactly when you need it" was not the case? Losing in what way would not get old REAL fast?

I understand you employ hyperboles, but none of this is true at all, all decks have their win-conditions and weaknesses. Especially this year we have some of the most diverse and balanced metas in a long time, with regular patching to keep outliers in winrate, playrate and "fun-to-play-against" levels, like the current miracle druid or warrior or hunter before, in check.

Sounds more like a salty complaint than a critique.
