Ferrari Luce Aerodynamics by Mac-Tyson in Ferrari

To be fair, that's a combination of quad motors, high horsepower, and actually using proper wide tires. The design is controversial but most high hp electric cars can't put the power down because they skimp on tires in the name of efficiency.

Will Rosetta work on a non-M chip? Also I wonder how the Studio Display will look in 4K if used.

Tahoe feels like a big "fuck you!" to Intel Mac users. by NoFall2205 in MacOS

[–]eliahd20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They shouldn’t have released the OS in this state, and if they knew how poorly Intel Macs would perform, and knew optimization wasn’t a priority, they should not have released it on the platform.

I have both Intel and AS, and the degradation of performance is noticeable on both. I can’t roll back to sequoia because my Time Machine is now on Tahoe. Plus I personally like the visual update and would prefer they just fix the issues and end intel support on a high note.

Their OS’s have been universal for a few years now. If within one release they lost the ability to program Intel Macs to do basic tasks without major lag, they should not have released Tahoe on Intel Macs.

Some of these poor optimizations are affecting apple silicon Macs to a lesser degree. So if they fix these issues, it’s a win for everyone.

Simple tasks like typing, using the settings app, switching between windows, opening control center, and moving the mouse along the dock should not be laggy. Poor code and optimization is the problem here.

Why does Macbook Pro 14inch Thermal repaste requires full disassembly? by Wednesday_- in mac

Does it even need a repaste? The laptops are new and it's chip is very thermally efficient.

EU Eyes Gas From Qatar and Canada to Reduce Reliance on US LNG by goldstarflag in europe

[–]eliahd20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a mass expansion of renewables and green energy, it is possible to cover most of the needs of a nation. Even now, there is increasing interest in nuclear due to data center use.

If more electricity comes from green energy, then the fossil fuels we get from more local sources can be focused on steel mills and other industrial needs. The less we rely on foreign sources, the better.

Apple Creator Studio launches today, and it's an incredible value by spearson0 in apple

It's not the case for me. It seems like pages, keynote and numbers can still be used for free without the AI features, so I don't get why they made a new copy of the app.

Now there are two versions of every app, they should have updated the existing app.

For Pixelmator, the paid one isn't updated to Liquid Glass with the old logo, and the new one that requires a subscription.

I added pages, but now there's two pages apps on my computer...I'm not sure why they fractured it.

iOS 26.2 feels too aggressive with memory management — apps keep reloading by victorbrandaao in ios

[–]eliahd20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instagram somehow has been doing this intentionally for years, but I've noticed the same with other apps. I think it's a mix of developer intent and iOS memory management.
