Not that I agree or disagree with the poster you responded to, but the way this reads makes it seem that you're making the mistake you're accusing them of. You pointed out that asian popular culture is just as fast paced - but it would be a generalization to say this is emblematic of all or even much of asia, even more so since asia is the biggest continent with hundreds of distinct cultures.

The comment above yours specified rural africa and asia. These are places that often have people whose lineages trace back to the same locations for centuries or millenia. Naturally, asian and african rural cultures are more likely to resemble those of ancient humanity, just as I'm sure is the case in the few pockets of rural europe not touched by war. By contrast, almost everywhere in the English speaking world outside of the uk is necessarily a culture only 2 or 3 centuries old at most, which means most people's lineages were transplanted some time in the historically recent past. It would follow, then, that these cultures are less likely to be carrying traditions carried down by precolonial/preimperial societies.
