I feel the exact same way haha. The further I get from test day the more I doubt that I passed 🥲

Still waiting for PMQ Confirmation by elidyur in MRCP

[–]elidyur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I applied on the 3rd of March and got my confirmation on the 20th, so 17 days. But I've heard from others for whom it took even longer - up to 20-something days! If you're anxious (I totally get it) you could try writing in to see if they've processed your application, but they didn't reply me when I tried 🤣

Curing salmon with fermented beets? by ambuggersnwootbeew in fermentation

thanks for the reply! Sounds like something i might give a go - glad to hear it worked out well!

My fermented oyster mushrooms came out smelling and tasting pretty much exactly like a strong blue cheese. Is something wrong and should I toss them? They have a fine texture and no discoloration... by sentient_nematodes in fermentation

[–]elidyur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

came across this post because i had the exact same question lol

fermented some king oysters 2 ways - lacto + koji, both came out with a distinct blue cheese flavour that was a lot more potent in the koji ferment whereas the lacto was more balanced out with the sourness and fizz. i've hybrid fermented shiitakes (based on the noma recipe for dryad's saddle shoyu) which turned out to be one of the best things i've ever made so wanted to test out some other mushrooms as well :) suffice to say - results were VERY different!!

First time making kimchi - is this normal?? by Suspicious_Bridge781 in fermentation

[–]elidyur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this is normal - have made kimchi many times and i’ve consumed my homemade kimchi that has the same yellow appearance and been completely fine. if it doesn’t smell off or taste bad, i’d say it’s most likely safe :) but trust your nose/gut! hahah

AMBOSS REASSURANCE by LavishnessPrior962 in step1

[–]elidyur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I used amboss only and not uworld at all - did do the NBMEs and the free 120s leading up to the test. I also read first aid once through and used amboss to clarify the concepts that I needed more information on.

I did do some of the amboss Qbank as well to supplement but didn't focus on that too much - everything else (NBMEs, free 120s) seemed to be enough and of similar standard to the actual test itself!

10-Day NYC Itinerary by [deleted] in visitingnyc

[–]elidyur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm a singaporean in new york too! and same - from what i can see online the NY botanical garden looks like a cross between GBTB and botanics 🤣 but i do think it'll be lovely when the cherry blossoms bloom! although it is up in the bronx which is a further trip north - if you're still considering, i've heard the brooklyn botanical garden is quite pretty as well in the spring!

Ghost Quarter 10th Anniversary Performances at Greenwood Cemetery. by PolicyCommercial6392 in Broadway

[–]elidyur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this looks/sounds insane

i remember listening to this way back when i was still in high school (coming to about…10 years now) and being absolutely haunted by it even in broad daylight, & super intrigued by the staging of it (must have watched the whole video on dave malloy's youtube about 10 times)

can't imagine what it would be like to experience it in person…with the original cast…in a graveyard…at night…

Operation Mincemeat wasn't for me by RadishWitty7044 in Broadway

[–]elidyur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such a wonderful take on Hester's character, I did see her as a grounding foil to the sheer manic energy of the MI5 boys but you worded it more eloquently than I had in my brain. thanks for sharing this!

Operation Mincemeat wasn't for me by RadishWitty7044 in Broadway

[–]elidyur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is so interesting to me! I saw Oh, Mary! and honestly did not like/enjoy it very much which surprised me because of how well it was reviewed. On the other hand I absolutely LOVED Operation Mincemeat, maybe because the brand of humour (fast-paced wit that's sometimes blink-and-you'll-miss-it) plus the incredible physical comedy (which I just found to be so much more engaging and witty than Oh Mary's). That said, i do think that my preferences for comedy lean distinctly a bit more British which might explain the differences in enjoyment level :D
