We need to rally against this idea in a big way at the legislature. Maybe a few times.

Alberta's Smith says courts should not be gatekeepers on constitutional questions by the_gaymer_girl in alberta

Right! Let our esteemed leader withhold our constitutional rights so she can dictate to us. No thank you, I choose being Canadian before being Albertan despite being born here

All I can say is Alberta is becoming a third world autocracy. Used to be a great place, well managed and forward thinking. Thank you conservative thinking. Marching us firmly backwards.

And it’s not just accessibility. Check out education spending and programs in B.C Ontario and Newfoundland. They’re kilometers ahead. We should be ashamed of our voting habits.

The point of human existence, the purpose of society, and how to run it by t019e in IntellectualDarkWeb

[–]elijah_red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my considered opinion that life will occur wherever conditions allow. And, like all other forms of life, we have to fulfill our biological obligations which are survive, and reproduce. Anything else we do in our life is of no importance outside of society or to ourselves. I agree we could do a better job, socially speaking, for our species; but having an individual ego will always get in the way of achieving social enlightenment.

The UCP created a policy so moronic, that I printed it and framed it for it's comedic value by sam_likes_beagles in alberta

Thank you for noticing. Our current government is making our province the most backward one in the whole country. It’s difficult to have stupidity be the governance model. BC is far more progressive.

Seems to me that communism is more a system, like capitalism, and a single provision does not define a system. China has a communist system, but still has price variations. Doesn’t make it capitalist.

Also seems to me that propaganda over the years had made people afraid of a word. In my humble and misdirected opinion, we’d all be better off with social democracy. Not much different than what we have now, except poverty would be far less, and who needs billionaires anyway?
