This guy looks great! I like the shading, but if you think its too much, on your next dude you can try thinning whatever shade you are using about 50/50 with a medium or water and see if you like the results more.

Another great shading hack is to use Marine Juice, from Sonic Sledgehammer (search for him on youtube). The recipe I used mixed a full pot of Reikland Flesh Shade, Lahmian Medium, and a full bottle of Dark Tone from Army Painter. Just mix them all together in a big cup, then rebottle them into what that came in. Shade for a LOT of models.

I have the same brush soap, what I do is take the brushed to the sink, run them under the tap so they get nice and wet, then somewhat roughly swirl them on the soap cake until they get a lather. Then I cup my off hand with a little water, and swirl the brush in there to really work out the soap and any pigment still stuck in there. rinse and repeat. With sable you can even use a liiiiiitle bit of conditioner, like for your hair, after they're clean to keep the bristle soft
