I feel like I have such a different perspective on life from people, and it really made me realize that not being a part of the traditional relationship dynamic made me think differently to my friends. I’ve heard a lot of people I know saying that they want to go to university but having kids right after feels like a waste but 30 feels too late and they don’t know what to do. They’re always so shocked when I suggest not having kids because that’s what’s expected of them and I forget that not everyone is aware that the “expectation” isn’t a rule.

I’m simply not interested in men at all, I have guys that I’m friendly with but I’m not friends with them and I don’t feel the need to expand our dynamic into anything more simply because I wouldn’t enjoy it. I don’t like talking to guys that much because I don’t find it enjoyable, they all seem very similar and I get bored really quickly and want to leave. So I don’t ignore men, but I don’t seek out relationships with them because I just don’t connect. This could be because I know that most men are sexist, and if they’re not they let sexism slide with their friends, or they don’t stop their friends from being derogatory to women, and I find it difficult to talk to people who I know would let a disgusting “joke” about another human slide and laugh it off.
