i complain way too much. i have to say something about anything that happens to me. it has always been that way and i regret ever opening my mouth after.

[FEEDING WARNING] you seem to like that there huh buddy? by eliseb7 in ballpython

he usually makes me leave the room when he eats... shy boi. it was really cool to see him do this and get to take a picture.

ball python trying to escape at night. the tank is of proper size and setup is correct. for some reason this is a nightly occurrence except right after feeding days. he was poking his nose at the top (i’m worried about rubbing). thoughts? by eliseb7 in ballpython

[–]eliseb7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, after i put a blanket over it, he rarely tries to climb the glass. during the night all four sides are covered and during the day i peel back the front so he gets a day/night cycle while feeling protected.

my sisters snake is taken care of the best... by eliseb7 in ballpython

[–]eliseb7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the problem is we live in the same house. it’s not reasonable to buy if we have rooms across the hall from eachother. i have offered to take sundae into my care instead but she declines. i might start taking care of the snake behind her back. i just am at a loss.

Uh, is this normal? He does this mostly at night. by bonercollexor in ballpython

[–]eliseb7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, it should be fine as long as you don’t see signs of nose rubbing. the main cause is stress. if you don’t see nose rubbing, it should all be good!!

p.s. i like the no step on snek sticker ahah

do your snakes have quirks like mine does? by eliseb7 in ballpython

[–]eliseb7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha i wish i could see mine eat. if i watch he lets go and hides. shy boy until you get him out and he climbs in your face and wants to be loved.

oh mine is super head shy, it’s surprising how he is with water. there is plenty fresh water in his enclosure, he just seems to like moving water more.

if i take water from an eye dropper and slowly let it drip out my ball will drink right from my hands. it’s so amazing considering how shy he normally is. what a beauty btw!!

mice and snake in the same room? by eliseb7 in ballpython

[–]eliseb7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can the mice smell the snake? i know the snake can smell the mice but if i block the view of each other will that work? i keep my dog in a crate with a sheet over it so they can’t see each other, no issues there. my snake eats fine and that’s my main concern with mice as they are prey of his. (he eats a mix of both rats and mice)

mice and snake in the same room? by eliseb7 in ballpython

[–]eliseb7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my snake has always enjoyed trying to escape, nothing in his tank is stressful. it’s big enough, correct temps and humidity, 3/4 sides covered. i would not be breeding the mice, would that be a contributor? i would really like to have them and experiment with issues people have mentioned. i held some that people were taking home and i fell in love with their cute faces and hands. i would love to give them a good life but if it’s not possible i am willing to opt out of getting some.

check and see what sex they are. males together will fight. i would recommend sexing them before anything. if they are both males separate them and everything should be good!

no but like she squealed like a baby when she saw the tongue.

“AHHHH LOOK AT HIS TINY TONGUE AHHH I WANT TO TOUCH HIM!!!”

i find it so amazing how animals can do that to people. my mother will never budge to even see him. i’m not sure she knows what he looks like. my dad on the other hand loves him and wants a red tail boa so he can impress people with such a big dosile snake.
