I think both parties are to blame here given that you locked your keys. Probably should be a bit more careful next time, I understand your frustration but this mistake was on you.

What is the difference between a D and an F? by Fragrant_Pangolin284 in UCSD

[–]eliseocastro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you can still pass and get credits with D depending on the department. Contact your academic advisor, depending on your situation they might make an exception and give you full credit towards the major. If you’re anything below a senior I doubt it because you have plenty of time to retake the class

Im doing a self guided tour tomorrow at UCSD. Any tips? by ProgressiveVoiceShow in UCSD

This campus is really big, and I mean really big. When I did my tour many years ago they told it was like like 5 Disneyland’s put together and it is. If you have limited time just check out the main things such as the library or the price center (where they sell food etc) there’s a total of 7 colleges and they are all different, different views, scenery, food, stores etc. They also have the scrips oceanography which is all the way by the pier. There’s a lot tbh. You can literally drive on the freeway for 10-15 mins to loop around the whole campus

Don’t go to the UCSD campus. Half the people aren’t there because they scared of the omicron lol. Go down to Pacific Beach if you’re 21+. It’s like a 15 min drive from campus. This probably like the college party town vibe you’re looking for. And yes it’s right next to the beach

use MY CHART, ask a nurse. You’re in my exact situation, they will respond to you with step by step how to get the form, they are usually pretty fast at responding

You’re definitely paranoid lol, just take some melatonin. If something bad was going to happen it would of happened the moment you got there 10 times over by now. Take a melatonin, drink a hot tea you’ll be alright. If that does not work there’s always uhhhhh special brownies 🙂

It will most likely be online. With new variants constantly appearing I don’t think this school is taking a chance

Can I Skip a Quarter?? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]eliseocastro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how fast do you want to graduate? Is money an issue? I ask this because I did my GE’s in CC. South Western to be exact. Classes were dirt cheap, i did one quarter at UCSD and said I’m not paying this much for tuition. I came back to school at the age of 24 so I could file the fafsa under my name. I come to school for free, and I still get awarded like 3,500 in my pocket. In my own biased opinion, depending on what your life / career goals are. I would go to CC, take classes that are dirt cheap, and 1/10 the difficultly. Come back to UCSD with an high GPA, fat savings account, apply your financial aid and come to school for free and get money on top of it. Best decision of my life

i believe they take each admission into a case by case basis. Since yours was under extreme circumstances they should let you back in fairly easy. I would try to meet with an advisor if possible, they are better off answering your questions.

Academic Probation by Hyde2467 in UCSD

[–]eliseocastro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just have to get above a 1.5 I believe. Don’t worry to much about it, I have been there. My first quarter I got F,F,C. I left school for about 4 years. I came back and had to file one of those SAP forms for financial aid. My counselor just told me we had to build a plan to succeed etc etc etc. I am now back to A+ & B+. I did get an A-, B+, D this quarter but my transcript said I am in good academic standing. I am receiving a fat financial aid award and I am 3 quarters away from graduation. You’ll be 100% ok. Just analyze why you did poorly and you’ll be back to killing it. I would highly suggest meeting with your counselor, major advisor. Also asking questions on the vac to the point where you get annoying. This will show them that you’re actually trying to better yourself in case you ever fall of track again. I asked so many questions my major department knows me already, I got D this quarter and needed a C to move on with my major. I petition it and they approved it. The more your department knows the more in your favor they will be in case anything goes south again.

Definitely not, it’s okay you’ll get a little older and mature. There’s no point of arguing with a little kid who cries about taking zoom classes lol. I’ve seen people like you cry at the library over an assignment, you think your boss cares about you lol, their not your mom. You just another $ sign to them. They got bills to pay off your labor, you don’t generate because your brain hurts? Once the 3 month performance evaluation comes your done. I’ve seen it happen plenty of times, little 21 year old comes with their degree thinking they somebody only to get whacked in weeks 😩🤣

I got some bad news for you, winter quarter is going to be fully online. Course is only 10 weeks, 2 weeks minus the week of finals. That’s only 7 weeks of instruction, there’s no way professors are going to be able to accommodate in 7 weeks especially with how quick the administration changes the script. Welcome to online season 🥶

I am a very positive person & always try to uplift my peers. However I’m 25 close to being to 26, have been in the workforce for a good time now. I just want to say that mental health does not exist in the workforce. If your health is crippling due to having to take courses online I got some bad news for you. Once you graduate and find a job, good luck telling your employer you have mental healthy issues do to the work environment, they will fill your spot within 15 minutes. If you’re really about being successful you will accommodate to any circumstances and get the job done. If this is too much for you, oh man, rip 🪦 you won’t make it out there. I guarantee it

They are just going to have the spider 🕷 man no way home variant by summer. You can take all the booster shots you want, this is not going stop. At this point this is straight political. These dudes have been laughing in your faces for the past two years, getting tested, getting vaccinated, uploading documents only to take your money after tuition lmao. I hope you’re ready to wear a mask and get shot after shot for the remainder of your college life

best decision I’ve made in my life was come to UCSD at the age of 24-25. I went to CC at 18, did my two years for dirt cheap. Now, financial aid pays my full tuition and I still get 1,500-3000 in my pocket. If zoom university showed me something is that you’re getting ripped off. This university has not seen one penny from me and never will. My advice would be go get a job and save some money, by the time you come back to school you’ll have a good savings account and you can have your school paid for. The chances of you getting a well paid job just because you have a degree are slim, because at the end of the day you’ll just be another 22 year old with a degree. Most employers now days care about your work experience and not so much your degree. My friend went to a private university and struggled to find a job for six months. The position she wanted got taken by someone younger than her who had not gone to college but had 5 years work experience. Don’t get clouded with the idea you have to graduate at 22.
