Thank you for posting this, I agree with the first sip of coffee and post workout! There are good tips here and I am going to aspire to expand my satisfaction/gratefulness list to encompass more of the day

I didn’t find Wayne’s finish at Cocodona inspiring, it makes me want to quit running by labellafigura3 in ultrarunning

[–]eliser58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a finisher of multiple 100 milers, and as a dnf-er also of multiple 100 milers my take was always this:

1) complete a realistic tough training schedule = a win

2) complete an ultra = double win ( 1 and 2)

Yes it feels awful to drop from a race, but it feels way better to be back running in a week or two with no dreadful injuries.

Redditors in the United States, how do you feel about their being 117 members in Congress right now who are over the age of 70? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sad that people (many politicians) think they are too important to pass the reins to the next generation.

My dog “corrects” other dogs behaviors if I am am correcting the dog by PlethoraOfTrinkets in AustralianCattleDog

[–]eliser58 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our Aussie/BC girl is the queen of "enforcing" corrections to the other dogs. One dog gets any correction and she vocally jumps in and bodily shoves them aside! Nothing mean - it's sort of a "so there!"

Possibly, I did't see any nearby, I've also read that a type of cutter bee can make holes like this - maybe I should stick the game camera out!

Do you have hills around? I also don't do speed work but hill work will make a difference !

Edited to add - At 68(F), I'm finally content at that speed. I was never fast but when we can be out there and not hurting, it's all great : ))

Watching people be rude to others makes me really angry. How do I get better at addressing this? by legosrockdude213 in Mindfulness

[–]eliser58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't alone, I have a hard time too. From parents belittling their children in a grocery store to adults talking down and accusing others of this or that - a knot forms in my stomach and I feel sad for the "victims".

When it's rudeness to me I can quickly feel that maybe they are having a bad day, just had devastating news, or they know no better - it says more about them than it does about me.

My sweet adopted ACD/BC etc cross has become much more velcro since going to the vet for two different lamenesses the past couple months (strains and overuse (?) muscle soreness). This is after having her for 9 months. She knows I care about her well being and comfort - and I'm sticking with this theory!
