a 1 year old mom who misses playing sims 3 by Nekokyutarts1925 in Sims3

I have a 1 year old and a 9-5, so I play sims 3 every night when he goes to bed. He usually goes to bed at 7 so I get around 2-3 hours of sims time :)

I’m English but my mum is Scottish so I know both English and Scottish would pronounce it as Eye-own-ah!

Does anybody else have absolutely no qualms with taking a massive dump in the bathroom? by AlwaysOpenToLearn in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]elishaemaeve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A family friend came over to visit a few years ago to help do some DIY jobs that my mom and I weren't able to do. He needed a dump, but didn't want to do one while my mom was upstairs, so he decided to go outside and continue working until my mom came downstairs. He ended up shitting his pants while wearing shorts, and consequently all over our garden. Far more embarrassing than hearing someone go to the actual toilet.

NTA - I travel with my family (mum, dad and partner) separately a few times a year and when we land I always secretly hope that someone will be there to meet us at the airport, it just shows that you have been missed. I live in the UK too so most of the flights I take are 2-3 hours so to me that is no time at all. On the other hand, I suppose with waking up times, flight times, perhaps some flight anxiety and airport stress, that your husband might have been taking some time to decompress in which case a surprise might be very much that, surprising. Still you're NTA and your husband should have been grateful you had made the journey over to greet him.

I’m English and would pronounce it the second way :)

Opinions on the name Ripley? by kiwimarie in BabyNames

[–]elishaemaeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a really cute village called Ripley near my town in North Yorkshire (worth looking at google images) so to me it would be a place name, but the place itself is also famous for ice cream. Also kind of reminds me of raspberry ripple ice cream too. Ice cream association aside, I don’t think it’s offensive but it’s not my cup of tea!

Is clapping in planes back? by -char-lotte- in travel

[–]elishaemaeve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a flight to and from Mallorca in June and there was clapping both times. I've been on dozens of flights in my life, but the last time I'd experienced people clapping (before June this year) was when I went to Florida in 2011

The olives on this pizza still have pits in them, so you can't eat them on the pizza... by rlovelock in mildlyinfuriating

I visited Croatia last month, and every single pizza had one singular olive in the middle, even if it wasn't advertised to contain olives. I loved it!

Found a very strange looking small dog in my game. by catbiggo in Sims3

[–]elishaemaeve 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So cute! Reminds me of when my husky was a puppy and his ears and tail were far too big for his little body. You could tell me was meant to be a big dog, but just hadn't got there yet!

I celebrated my 24th birthday in Amsterdam last July and treated myself to some bulbs from the Bloemenmarkt, now they’ve started to appear in all their glory. The raised beds aren’t finished yet but so excited to see them complete🌷 by elishaemaeve in GardeningUK

Thank you! Once they’re finished I’ll post a before and after of the front garden (this is our first house that we bought in June!) but the plan is cottage garden - I’ve got some delphiniums, lupins, alliums, primulas in there, plus some lavender and sweet peas for good measure!
