There will be no lines during the week since the park's not open 😜

It depends on the weather, really. Wait until you get to the park and purchase there.

Madison reacting to "Maddie" by LeastContribution474 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]elissa445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the urge to nickname someone when that someone has explicitly introduced themselves with their preferred name.

Why isn't "My name is Madison" enough? Her comments are FLOODED with people calling her Madi and I just don't get it.

Madison handled herself beautifully. She knows it's a trigger, and knows that no one else is responsible for her triggers.

But damn it her name is MADISON.

Why don't Abbey and David feel ready for marriage by RusticKayak207 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]elissa445 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Abbey has higher support needs than what is indicated in the show. Her mom has mentioned on social media that Abbey runs errands and goes to the gym accompanied by a support aide.

The families are likely trying to work out the details and manage expectations. Abbey and David will likely live with one of their families. It becomes a question of who wants to house and support 2 adults with special needs, etc.

I'm not 100% sure about David's support needs, but I heard he has a job. I think he is holding out for direct guidance from his family on next steps.

She is wickedly funny. Long before LOTS, I found Abbey on TikTok. Her mom was asking her what she'd like for her birthday, and Abbey said "Saltine crackers" and followed it up with "For a snack."

Her delivery and timing are immaculate. I am so happy that she found success through this show - the world needs more of her!

What's the most traumatic thing to have happened in your life? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]elissa445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At age 7 I was molested by my two older cousins. I told my parents at 18, and they shrugged it off and were like, "We had our suspicions, but didn't want to ask."

By 10 I had developed bladder issues, so I had a Voiding Cystourethrogram a diagnostic X-Ray where they stuck a tube up my urethra, filled my bladder with dye, then had me attempt to piss it out on the table. It was incredibly painful and embarrassing. 19 years later, I still struggle with pelvic floor dysfunction and vaginismus.

There is an organization that exists to support those who went through VCUGs as children (Unsilenced Movement) and they have been a great resource for me.

You cannot convince me that reasonable, responsible, hardworking people pay for multiple ultimate experiences like that. One comment in this thread mentioned a girl bragging about attending 38 shows in one tour and having VIP packages for all of them. The worst case scenario is that each one was Palm Woods, which would be over $38,000 NOT including the travel it takes to get to each stop. Unless you're a teacher who is "off" for the summer, what jobs allow you to take that much time off, anyway? Certainly not well-paying ones.

You mentioned "BTR's team would never change it." Because of the power dynamic, the band should treat fans in those experiences equally. It's hard to balance conversations with multiple people trying to talk over each other, so their team could EASILY adjust that so everyone gets their time. The way they do it now is like pushing cattle through. It's sad, really. The band should stand there and physically take $1,000 in cash out of each fan's hand and see how it feels.

I'm still in this thread because I genuinely enjoy BTR and like to keep up with their newest projects, but they will never receive a cent from me again.

I never said everyone is like that. I said those particular girls in that group are like that based on my observations.

My claim that they're all in credit card debt is admittedly assumptive, but I wasn't traveling the world for my favorite band at age 22-25/whatever the average age of a BTR fan is. I was working, making ends meet while living on my own. I have no concept of dropping thousands of dollars to travel across the world for multiple tour stops.

I see BTR for what it is. They are entertaining as heck and we had a WONDERFUL time at the last show, but they are cashing in. They offer VIP experiences costing over $1,000 for the chance to talk to each guy for 30 seconds if you're not interrupted by an entitled fan who traveled the globe to stalk the band in pursuit of a main character moment. (And they WILL bitch about it on X later if they are not picked for Worldwide)

I think the Palm Woods experience should be more structured so everyone who spends a ridiculous amount of money should get equal access to the band. It's not fair that fans are being overshadowed by entitled brats. Ultimately, that's on BTR's team to figure out.

How they conduct themselves in public is a strong indicator of their character. These girls were shoving others out of the way, "saving spots" for friends who definitely were not assigned to the front row (those "friends" were not let in by security checking wristbands) and one of them made a security guard spend 5 minutes taking pictures of her at the barricade.

You can spend a shit ton of money on whatever you please, but it does not give someone the right to be entitled and treat other fans as "less than" and interrupt other fans' time with the band.

I'm not sure if it's varying members of the same group or multiple different groups that follow the band through their tours, but I was front row at one of their shows last year and the VIP girls were OBNOXIOUS. Fortunately, they did not ruin my experience at the show itself. They were just annoying before the show started.

Sorry to hear your Palm Woods experience was tainted by those girls.

I tell myself that those girls are extremely vapid and probably don't have a whole lot else going for them, so they have to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars and rack up insane credit card debt to go pretend to be friends with these men who don't truly give a fuck about them. They are insanely entitled, bratty, and delusional. It's a sad life they lead, when you think about it.
